Vehicle Detail
1975 Suzuki RM125 w/ Full Factory "Hop-UP" KitCompletely restored to as on the showroom condition The 1975 RM125 was the very first RM model ever made and was the beginning of the end for the Elsinore. The '75 RM revolutionized the motocross world with it long travel laid down shocks on a production bike. The bike was a little down on power to the Elsinores so Suzuki introduced a full Factory Hop-up Kit to help raise the horsepower up to Elsinore levels. This along with the far superior suspension allowed it to out handle anything else in its class. The Hop-Up Kit consisted of a modified cylinder with different porting, special thin ring piston, intake spacer, 34mm carb (stock was 28mm), throttle cable, carb intake, airbox boot, larger airbox, a special bracket to move the ignition black box under the seat, and a special hand built cone pipe. This bike has this complete Factory Suzuki Hop-Up kit. This is the same model bike the Bob Hannah tore up Sourthern California on back in 1975 as a Suzuki support rider. How Suzuki ever let him go to Yamaha we will never know. You see very few of the 1975 RM125s around these days and even more rare are ones with the Hop-Up kit installed. The "Kit" made this bike equivelent to the RM125"S" model sold by Suzuki in the European and Australian markets. Here is your chance to add this rare bike to your collection. It has been fully restored to showroom like condition. I say showroom like because I restore my bimes to look like they rolled off the showroom in to a climate controlled storage facility to sit babied for 35 years. I use new NOS parts where ever possible and install them as I find them from the dealers shelves, I replicate all the original finishes on others parts I use. No over polishing here, that was not original. I will detail below what this bike has gone through.
