1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible Great driver quality "rag top" that would be great for your local cruise-in or that Sunday afternoon ride. Runs, operates, and drives great. All lights "interior and exterior" and equipment operate as should except gas gauge goes beyond full mark and time to get gas when it shows 3/4 full. Clock even works. Power top goes up and down easily. Car was originally a turquoise with matching interior. It was refinished and color changed to a Medium Blue Metallic "including jambs" about 20 years ago and driven very little since then. Less than 2,000 miles in the last 12 years. Paint shines good and looks presentable but fair driver quality. Some dirt, small dimples, waves. Both door corners and rear wheel openings showing some rust starting. Solid trunk and front floor pans. Rear seat floor has had some rust repair. Rear frame inner part of rail has some minor rust "see photo". The frame is a boxed section at rear where most car are just c- channel there. The main part of rails are still solid. Was originally a 352 but has a lower mileage 289 V-8 in it now with a Holley 4 barrel carb with new Holley air cleaner. Original air cleaner included. Cruise-O-Matic transmission, Power Steering, AM Radio. Nice mellow sounding dual exhaust. Recent new radiator, hoses, belts, plugs, plug wires. Brake system recently gone thru with new, linings, hoses, wheel cylinders, grease seals, drums turned. Recent new transmission filter, fluid, and lines. Chrome and stainless steel trim good except rear bumper is pitted. Convertble top very good with no rips or tears. Back window clear. Very Good Armstrong P215/75R15 radial tires. New trunk mat and trunk weatherstrip. Interior was a turquoise that clashed with exterior color so it was changed to black. Has new dash pad, new seat covers, new seat belts in front, newer carpet. Dash has been refinished in black and door panels and rear seat side panels dyed black. Has new trunk mat. New windshield too. Car is 100% there, no missing items or trim.
