Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this unbelievable find. This is an all original 1934 Plymouth PE 4Dr. Sedan. I bought this at an estate auction close by to where I live. This 77 year old car is complete right down to the opera ashtrays and mohair door panels as well as the unmistakable Plymouth hood emblem. The elderly gentleman that owned this was supposedly the second owner of this automobile. Before purchasing this, I had the opportunity to talk with the nephew that was handling the estate and he had a lot of information about the car. The car had been stored for 40 years prior to the owner passing away. However he had started to replace some things in preparation of putting this car back on road. The nephew told me a couple years prior to his passing , he had the motor rebuilt and they had it running prior to the auction, but I have never tried to get it running. The odometer reads, 57,874 and the nephew claims that this is actual, but I have no documentation to back this up, so it is being sold mileage unknown. It appears that he replaced the windshield, and the side glass, The vent glass and the opera windows will need replaced. There are 4 brand new Allstate 6.00 X 16” 6 Ply tires & tubes, and all the center hub caps are there. All the windows roll up and down. Windshield winds open and shut. This has the special side window frames that you can roll the whole window down, or you can slide the handle and the window rolls down without the vent glass, a Plymouth only option. He also had the bumpers rechromed at some point and they were still wrapped up when I purchased the car, however after unwrapping these they have developed a couple spots. The bumpers however, are exceptional, not bent or twisted. This is very unique vehicle and cannot stress enough how complete this car really is. The condition of this vehicle is as close to excellent that I have ever seen for a 77 year old car. Unmolested and untouched, There is absolutely no rot or rusted out areas anywhere. There are a few small dents but very minor. The fenders and running boards are rock solid, no weak spots anywhere. This also has the optional trip trunk and the metal spare tire cover, all complete. The trip trunk has a small crack about 2” long, on each side where the spare tire carrier attaches, easily fixed. I have the seat frames, which are in great shape, but the mohair upholstery is bad. The door panels are in fairly good shape, but the headliner will need replaced. All the interior garnish moldings are there and in great shape, as well as the dash gauges and the rear view mirror. All four doors open suicide and shut with little effort. No slop or play in the hinges. The interior was out of it when I bought it and I left it out to take pictures to show the exceptional shape of the floor. I also left one door panel off for picture purposes. The vinyl roof insert is gone and will need replaced. The frame and underneath are as clean and solid as the body. This will make a great original or an awesome street rod or a really, really cool rat rod. Either way, you will be way ahead with this rock solid car to start with. Look closely at the pictures and you will get a real good idea how exceptional this really is. No surprises on this great old Plymouth, so bid with confidence. Clean and clear Pennsylvania title. I will help with loading and any other way that I can. I have done my best to describe this awesome automobile to the best of my knowledge. Feel free to call me with any questions, 814-221-2455 or e-mail me. A $500.00 nonrefundable deposit by way of Paypal is required within 24 hours after auction end, and the balance within 7 days. I do have this for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Thank You.On Feb-23-11 at 19:05:22 PST, seller added the following information: At the request of one of the bidders, I checked the engine block for the number. It is # PE940II, confirms that this is the original engine. I also have had many asking me if I have the bumper brackets. Yes, I have both front and rear brackets and bolts. Great condition, not bent or twisted. Also, I have a guys name and number that has many original parts for this car, such as an original 1934 radio, some hoses, etc... But the most important item that he has is the stainless trim that goes around the radiator shell. An almost impossible piece to find. He told me that it is in perfect condition, no bends, or dents. At auction end, I will be more then happy to supply this information to the winner. Just wanted to share these couple things with everyone. Thank You!
