Vehicle Detail

This is my 2001 Passat, I've had it for about 2 years and I am the 2nd owner. It has always been a California car so it is rust free. I am fairly versed with water cooled VW's as this is the 9th one I've owned. So if you have any question feel free to ask. This is a quick description of the known engine issue and what led up to it. The car had just passed smog about 2 weeks before it quit so I thought is was running descent. Basically the car quit running on the freeway while in traffic and had to be towed home. I was not driving the car so I don't know how it was running up to that point. After getting the car home I attempted to start it and immediately heard what sounded like an engine with low/no compression. A compression test confirmed my suspicions. I registered readings of 50-0-0-60 and that was all I did. Here is a list of all of the mechanical work that has been performed on the car that I am aware of. If its not listed here you can assume it is still an original part.1. Before cat o2 sensor2. M.A.F sensor3. Water pump4. Timing belt (35k ago)5. Front turn signals The best part of the car is the exterior, which is why I bought the car. It only has 3 or 4 blems worth mentioning. I got good pictures of them so you can see them for yourself. The tires are in "ok" shape but need to be rotated. I would estimate they have another 10k miles of life left. The brake pads have about half of their life left. The interior is in good shape but it does show some wear, mainly in the door panels where the fabric is loose. The seats all look good with no holes or major stains. Other known issues with the car are as listed.1. ABS module needs to be replaced.2. Driver window/lock switch only works on the driver door.3. Trunk lid sensor is bad so the light on the dash is always on.4. Upper and lower radiator hoses need to be replaced.5. Small oil leak at oil pan where the oil return line plumbs in. I am in need of a truck and don't have the time to replace the engine at this time. The car is located in Southern California. Please contact me with any questions before you bid. Obviously the car does not run and will have to be towed. I will assist in any way I can with this. I will require a $50 deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction. If you are serious about the car this shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for looking.
