Vehicle Detail
We are selling this 1986 Porsche 911. It is a wide body..not a factory wide body. Somewhere during it's life, steel quarters and wide fenders were added. We stripped the car down to the bare metal for a repaint. It is, however, a factory "spoiler" car option 473. Other factory options on the car are 241 short shifer, 425 rear wiper, 454 cruise control, 474 sport shocks, 650 sliding roof. This is not a concourse car. It's a great driver and priced accordingly. It has a clean carfax, but that really doesn't matter since it was around at least 15 years before Carfax came around. There are signs on the bottom of the tub that someone tried to jack it up on the tub and crushed it a bit. The title is clean and clear so no totals, flood, etc. When we received the car, it was in poor shape. We removed the engine/trans, went through it and repaired all of the leaks. We adjusted the valves, replaced the clutch and flywheel and rebuilt the transmission, replacing several synchros. We added a cat bypass pipe and a dual output 82mm sport muffler. We stripped the body down to bare metal, and resprayed in black. The rear spoiler rubber is new as is the front spoiler. All other seals and gaskets on the body were replaced. It has a new windshield. The interior was stripped out, new carpet was installed and a set of Recaro "top cat" black cloth seats were installed. The original door panels were showing their age, so they were replaced with RS America kits. The car now sits on a set of vintage 16" BBS wheels. Tires aren't that great and will need to be replaced. The engine has a "custom" air cleaner setup and seems to work fine. We don't have the original airbox. Basically what you see is what you get. The car runs and drives fine, and with a little more work would be a great car. It's missing a few interior kick panels, the carpet under the bonnet, and other small things like that. We need the room here at the shop so it needs to find a new home. There are several thousand dollars worth of new parts installed on this car. We are not interested in any trades and will not part the car out. Call us with any questions. We are running this car with no reserve so the high bidder gets it. 865 671 1480 ask for Mike or Alex.On Feb-21-11 at 12:08:28 PST, seller added the following information:I have had several questions regarding drivability and emissions. We have no way to test emissions for your state. We have no emissions here in Tennessee. This car doesn't have a catalytic converter. My best guess is that it will NOT pass emissions just due to this. However, it is now a 25 year old car and there are certain areas of the country where emissions aren't as strict on older cars. You will need to check your local/state regulations. As far as getting in the car and driving cross country....I have stated in the ad that the tires are not so great. They might make it (and it would be a not so comfortable drive), they might not. That would probably be the biggest limiting factor to driving cross country.
