Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 BMW 318iC E36 5 SPEED CONVERTIBLE The BMW 318iC is the perfect commuter full of pep and always eager and the perfect therapy after a eventful day. Ergonomically one of the best cars ever designed. This car runs and drives very well and the clutch feels just right. The E36 is a present day classic and a wonderful blend of everything that made this company the ultimate driving machine. Truly a very practical premium performance coupe. Add that she spent most of her life in California and is clean with no signs of any rust. The car has a accident free history and clean AutoCheck report. Again it is a California car and the paint work is very nice. At about 43 – 47 miles per hour I notice steering wheel flutter that disappears above and below that speed. On the highway she cruises at any speed smooth as glass, just time for tie rods and I would probably change the rear shocks. The SRS light is on but I noticed the cover is off of the seat belt receiver on the front passenger side although (it still latches securely). The previous owner updated the front speakers and never re-installed the front kick panels ( shown in the pictures). These issues are easily addressed but I’d rather just tell you everything about the car on the front end. The Convertible top is in good condition with a clear rear window with minor scratches from where it has been lowered. I just had a good used Catalytic converter and exhaust system installed last month which cost over $800 it sounds great now (All OEM Components were used). The Catalytic converter needed replacement which was triggering the check engine light which I didn’t take it in to have the light reset but the car is running and driving great now and has great perfomance. She has 17” BMW wheels (some curb rash)and newer Kumho performance tires that still have over 90 % tread remaining. I also just purchased the new Amber fog lights but they will need bulbs nothing fancy just the OEM $6 dollar variety. The best things about the car: It runs and drives very well. It is the very zippy 5 speed (I love BMW 5 speeds). The e36’s are ultra economical to run. It has a newer batteryTires ~90% TreadExhaust & Catalytic Converter just replaced last month with OEMKenwood Cd player installed last month as well. She has no signs of rust. The paint is very nice. The interior has been kept very clean with the front seats being way above average as well as the dash. I have a several other sports car and it is getting closer to spring and time to perform last needed tweaks on them. I don’t drive this car in bad weather and she is kept in a climate controlled building. The car is California Clean, runs and drives well and a definite future classic.
