1966 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE FULL ROTISSERIE RESTORATION! Summertime is just around the corner and don't you really deserve to treat yourself to that dream car you've always wanted? Well look no further, you have found your fantasy car at last! What could be better than reliving your youth in this exquisitely restored, candy apple red, 1966 Mustang convertible? The body of the car underwent an extensive rotisserie rotation by Advantage Autoworks in Dallas Texas several years ago. Advantage Autoworks is very well respected throughout the North Texas area as a well known restorer of vintage Shelbys, Camaros, Cadillacs, Mustangs and pretty much any kind of classic car that you might have to restore. The cars they have restored have always done very well in the awards category throughout the North Texas area. This '66 Mustang is one of their award winning restorations. Before it's restoration, this car started out as a Dallas car. This was originally a "C" code Mustang. It still is a "C" code Mustang of course but now it's got a four barrel carburetor on it. Since this was always a Dallas car, no panels had to be replaced in the restoration of this Mustang. It had no significant rust problems at all! This is almost unheard of in the restoration of these cars. You could not have restored a better car than this one from the standpoint of rust repair. This is a huge plus for this car. I went to no small expense to keep the look of this car true to it's original design. In the process of restoring the car, it was my goal to improve the reliability and performance of the car to make it more worry free to drive. While the body of the car received show quality paint & body work, the driveline was totally replaced with a freshly built, and slighty modified C4 transmission along with a brand new Ford racing 5.0 crate short block. Over $8000 was spent on the driveline alone. When you lift the hood and look at the engine compartment, it looks pretty much stock except for the Hooker headers and the aluminum intake manifold. The aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM heads were painted blue to match the motor and the EDELBROCK writing on the heads was removed to make it look just like the stock cast iron heads. The ignition system had a Pertronics unit added to it to eliminate the need for having to mess around with points. The engine is a FORD racing 5.0 liter crate short block. It is a full roller motor with a roller cam and roller rockers. The stock cam that came in the crate motor was swapped out for a beefier "B" cam. The intake manifold is an aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, the heads are matched to the intake as they are Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, Hooker headers, an Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 bbl carburetor tops it all off. The engine puts out about 385 hp and 350 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel. It runs fine on premium unleaded and you do not need to add any octane boost to have the engine run as it should.j The car runs cool due in part to the 3 core radiator that replaced the original radiator. The C4 tranmission was also built to withstand more than the standard C4 transmission. It has a 2000 rpm stall converter and a shift kit. This turned out to be a good compromise on this car as it retains good driveability in traffic plus gives you better performance when needed. The convertible top is not a power top. It is a manual top. The car has the original factory air conditioning system in it and it has been converted over to R134. You'll typically need to charge it about once a year but that is not really difficult or expensive to do. Everything works on this car just as you would expect that it should on such a fine ride. On top of all of this, you have a professionally installed $5000 sound system featuring state of the art 6 disk Eclipse deck with top of the line Focal speaker system. The sound system sounds absolutely incredible whether the convertible top is up or down and is powered by a top of the line JL Audio amplifier and subwoofer. The car currently resides in Seattle, WA. The current owner of the car purchased the car from me several years back. It's kept garaged at all times and he doesn't drive it when it's raining out. And there's the problem....it's always raining in the Seattle area so he doesn't get to enjoy the car anywhere near as often as he would like to! I had the stereo installed in the car before he picked it up from me when he bought the car. That is why you have some pictures without the speakers and some with. It's a timing thing with the pictures is all. When the current owner decided to sell the car, he contacted me because he knew I had the most knowledge of the car from a standpoint of what it went through when being restored. I agreed to list and sell the car for him. So, in closing, this is one kick ass '66 Mustang convertible. If I was in the market to buy another car, I'd love to buy this car back. I know it's a great car. My situation simply isn't one where I can do that right at the moment. Don't wait to bid on this car. This is truly a great find for whoever the lucky new owner will be. Thanks very much for your time and please don’t hesitate to ask questions. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK AT THIS AUCTION!! BID NOW! DON'T WAIT!! :) Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
