Vehicle Detail
I've got too many; the other half says one or two has to go. This one is in the best shape..most complete of a project. I think she is cute! I know I won't get what I've sunk into here; I bought her here on e-bay. She came to me with a weathered look and a great engine. She is a salvage title, only because she was born and built for Germany. She arrived to the states in 1991 were they titled her salvage. With that said, it’s the only 300D I've ever seen with a stick shift, and that’s fun! I've painted her, tinted her windows, put new tires on her and drove her back and forth to work for better than a year. She gets 30MPG with the petal to the metal on my trips in the hills of Cali. (I drive 140 miles a day) back and forth to San Diego. I was recently deployed for 7 months, and she was the one who fired right up! Her interior has great carpet with no tears or rips...her seats have great leather, side note, her back bottom seat is a darker blue. Her original Becker radio plays, it doesn't pick up stations to well on seek, but if you punch the number in she is good. I listen to my I-phone with Pandora on her, thru the tape player. Now, she probable should have a windshield, but all other glass is good. All windows roll down, manually.., sun roof opens manually...just as designed. Now we don't have too much rain in So Cal, but I suspect her sunroof may need a new seal if you take her to a rainy area...this based on some drips in the car wash. With all that said, everyone thinks their wife/husband is pretty, so by all means drop by...take it for a test drive. O, and yes you wouldn't want to park this thing in the driveway of your multi-million dollar mansion, cause like ever one of these diesels I've seen, they can take a notion to drip a bit, this one less than others....I've replaced a few seals...and a new oil pan gasket might finish it off?...Heater works, vent works, the windows roll down but this one did not come with AC....Ahh yeah, I don't know for sure how many miles this thing has on it, the miles didn't work, it says 150 something, but the engine starts quickly and drives well. It doesn't have turbo, but the stick shift allows you to take off much faster, O and me on my soap box, these Benz are works of simple pure mechanical art. O yeah, and the one thing she is missing is the back drivers side bumper end. She is a 1984, e-bay won't let me list is a such due to the short vin. -Ahh, so I got got, They bought it now, wanted to send me a cashiers check plus shipping and of course I could send the shipping money to the bank. Of course there phone # doest work....Folks I'm an honest hard working man, I couldn't began to really charge for my labor. I will do my best to describe my baby blue, if you have a feeback score of less than 10, contact me before you bid....fact is, might be a good idea to anyway. On Feb-11-11 at 15:53:18 PST, seller added the following information: A couple of things....questions answered etc. 1.) It was just pointed out to me it was listed as a 6 cyl...and yes it only has five...it was an auto fill I think. 2.) No, the paint job is not factory comparable. It looks good to me, has a couple runs...has a couple fish eyes. It is 27 years old and not mint. 3.) The medical first aid box in the back cover needs replaced, however it comes with orginal mercedes first aid kit so you will be blessed with 27 year old band aids n gauze...etc... 4.) It has its orginal (I assume) tool kit in the trunk. 5.) I put a tape in the player and it dragged...don't expect to play tapes...without rebuilding the radio. the tape player head does work because I play i-tunes thru it. 6.) yes its grey market. 7.) It is a 4 spd.
