Vehicle Detail

I am re listing this car due to nonpayment. The deposit MUST be made in full through paypal within the specified time frame. Its a sad day for me, I have to let go of my 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC with chrome AMG wheels. W126 body based on the SEL "S" class was and still is one of the most desirable of the Mercedes-Benz Coupe's. Its a stunning massive 2 door. This was the king of all coupe's!!! 5.6L V8 is very strong and very fast. Well taken care of and clean. Gorgeous and desirable color combo - Dark grey with light grey leather. Exterior is in great shape with a few minor scratches & dings. Original paint and hand painted original pin stripes. There is a rust spot on the right rear quarter panel by the wheel well about the size of a half dollar coin. Other than that the body is very straight. Engine runs exceptionally well...cant even feel it running!! Has passed NJ's rigorous state inspection and is good till November of 2012!! Car drives great, but needs a few things. A/C is inop due to a broken belt. Ive never bothered to fix it since we do not have many HOT months in NJ. May need an alignment as the car drifts just a tad to the right. The only suspension issues that I am aware of is the rear suspension. It is a little bouncy and I believe it will need new rear shocks...most noticeable in the right rear. I am told this is a typical issue with these cars...i just dont have the time or resources anymore. Interior is in great shape as well, the heat works great, all power options work including the seats, headrests and steering column!! Heated seats work great too. The sunroof does not work anymore. Im told this is common as well. I hear the motor working, so im guessing a cable broke or something of that nature. Interior issues are: the right power mirror switch doesnt work, rear portion of the headliner is "pinned up", its nothing terrible but you may want to attempt to glue it. Drivers armrest has the typical elbow rips - could be replaced..ive seen em on ebay for sale. The rest of the leather is in great shape with typical light wear - The drivers seat left side bolster shows some wear, there are a few cracks and a small tear in the drivers seat(see pics) and a 3" crack in the bottom portion of the passenger seat(see pics). Normal for its age. Not bad at all. The rear seats are absolutely perfect... as is all the wood trim, dashboard(no cracks or fade), and door panels. Beautiful Chrome AMG 17" monoblock wheels that look incredible on her and really make it stand out. The right rear wheel has some minor curb rash. Not a big deal but this can be fixed by one of those "mobile wheel repair" businesses for about $125.00. Two of the tires will need replacing, I just haven t had any time to have them changed. Updated "Becker" Mercedes Benz dealer professionally installed replacement CD player/Head Unit which looks great and sounds incredible with no speaker issues whatsoever... I have the original books for that too. Recently the power antenna stopped working and does not power up and down anymore. I have not bothered to look into fixing it as I always use the CD player. The transmission shifts flawless. I have all the original books for her with the original leather bound Mercedes-Benz book pouch. I even have the FULL emergency "First Aid" kit UNTOUCHED!! I love this car very much and I am sad to let it go. It has been very good to me and its a real head turner. Everywhere I go people stare, ask me questions and compliment me on how great it looks. If you know these cars, they have the capability to reach 500,000+ miles. I met a gentleman a few years back with a beautiful 1987 SEC...believe it or not.... he had over 750,000 miles!! He said he was shooting for the Mercedes "Million-Mile Club"..INSANE!! Mercedes-Benz did a wonderful job and created a built to last, well engineered Coupe. If only more cars today followed in they're foot steps, there would be more older cars on the road today. I am a big German Car Buff. Ive owned many cars and have had over 15 classic BMW's. I know it is difficult to buy a car using ebay as I have done it before in the past and most people do not list even the most minor of flaws. Other sellers out there neglect to list issues and defects with the car and I feel HONESTY always pays. Not many ebayers will list a car in detail like this. Please keep in mind this is a 22 year old car and it is a "used" car sold "AS-IS" There are no warranties or payment plans as I am not a dealer. I have given to you the best of my knowledge of the overall condition of this car. As I said before its going to be sad to see her go, I hope it goes to a good home. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction close. Feel free to contact me at anytime for questions, comments or concerns. Please! Please! Please! DO NOT bid if your NOT going to buy. Lets not waste eachothers time. ***The odometer issue on "auto-check" is new news to me. My thoughts are that when the title was re-issued many years back, there was a mistake and someone accidentally changed 206k to 266k when re-registering it. It only makes sense based on the condition of the car. Looks like it spent most of its life in a garage. Or if its true, its amazing that it has that amount of mileage and still runs and drives this great. Other than that, I have NO explanation for it.
