Sold with NO RESERVE. High bid wins! This little Vespa 400 was long ago forgotten. The car is truely miniscule in size- Much smaller than the Autobianchi Bianchina or Goggomobil coupes, which are already downright tiny. The car is in mostly original shape, although someone had the bright idea to attempt to "rebuild" the motor at one point and lost the majority of the parts. All that remains is the crankcase, 1 head, and the clutch assembly. Will need a crankshaft, pistons, cylinders, carburetor, exhaust, etc etc. It seems that at this point the engine door was also removed and lost. *sigh*.. The body of the car itself is in nice condition except that the floor pans are rusted out on both sides and will need replacement. Other than that, the car is quite solid and appears to be wearing it's original coat of paint. A few very small rust spots that should appear in the pictures. The rocker panels are solid and the car is straight, no big bends or panels out of whack. The fixed piece of glass on the passenger side door is missing (flat tempered glass) but all of the other windows are present and in good condition. The car will need a new top. The seat back for the passenger side seat will need new springs/supports. The car rolls and steers freely, but will of course need brake and suspension work. Will need new tires etc. A full restoration would be needed to get this car back on the street. The car has 2 spare wheels/tires (yeah....not quite sure how that happens....2 spares, but half missing motor? beats me.) I have just applied for a modern title and that will come with the car. Pickup/shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. We are located in Ann Arbor, MI. Just north of the Ohio line and 45 minutes west of Detroit. I can help load and we have a forklift if needed.
