Vehicle Detail

I hate to do this, but it's time for me to sell my original paint (what's left of it!) 1958 Palm Green Sand Green Standard Microbus. I don't have the money or time to do this project justice, and I believe it deserves it. This project was pulled out of an Arizona desert where it had been sitting since the early 1970's. I purchased it as a parts bus, (and thus have no title) but as you can plainly see it is worthy of putting back on the road either fully restored, or as a ratty original paint daily driver. As you can see from the pictures, it is very straight and un-molested for a 53 year old VW Bus! When I bought it, I cleaned out 40 years of desert dirt, fixed as many things as I could, and began sourcing original parts that were missing from it. It is still missing many small parts, but unfortunately, I have another project which is more dear to my heart so I must focus primarily on that. This is an original 9 passenger bus. The middle and rear seats are missing as they usually are. The front bench cushion is original to the bus and still wears its soft green upholstery. The front backrest is from another bus, but will still be correct for this '58 once re-upholstered. I tore out what was left of the mohair headliner, but all of the bows are present, along with both dome lights. It has 6 "big spoon" pop out windows, all original Palm Green. The rear mat is in very decent condition. All of the interior panels are all present, but some are warped. If you weren't planning on a full resto, the panels could probably be cleaned, straightened and reused although they will never be perfect! But it would have the same character as the outside. Both front windshields were badly broken, so I removed them. All of the window channels are rust free. The front floor is solid. There are 3 very small holes in the passenger side dogleg that can be patched, it does not need a full replacement. It needs inner and outer rockers on both sides, the short rocker behind the cargo doors, and the middle outrigger on the passenger side. There are 2 holes in the rear floor directly above the middle outriggers that need to be patched. Otherwise the floors are very solid. The rear of the front wheel wells are solid. Even the battery tray and the tray opposite of it are in incredible condition. This is VERY little rust for a bus this old! The rare front pressed bumper is still present, but the rear is missing along with the rear apron. The front bumper is pushed in a little bit, along with the nose. This can easily be pushed out from the inside of the bus by a good body man. The only "hack" is directly under the drivers seat, see photo. Only one of the original Palm/Sand green wheels are still with the bus, it is on the left front and is dated the same year and month of manufacture (11/57) as the bus. It is a "crows foot" 15x4.5" wheel. Parts for the bus not installed are pictured. Look closly at the pictures, this bus is still far from complete, but it is totally do-able by someone with more time and money that I have. There is no engine. What you see is what you get. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, I'm a big VW fan and I'd be glad to answer them! $500 will be due at the end of auction, preferably by Paypal. The rest will be due within 7 days of the sale date. Cashiers check, certified money order, or cash is acceptable. I will gladly ship overseas, but I've never shipped anything this big so I would need some guidance from the buyer. Transport is up to the buyer, I have no means to transport it myself. On Jan-24-11 at 08:02:17 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, the transaxle is the non-synchro split case type with reduction boxes, I assume it is original to the vehicle. Also, the original front door and kick panels are included, I just ran out of space for pictures. They are warped and beat up a bit like I previously mentioned in the add.
