Vehicle Detail

I am listing this vehicle for my aunt whose dream it was for the vehicle to be restored. Sadly, my uncle passed away in December and they were never able to restore it. This is a 1965 Ford Mustang that they purchased in 1967 at Shingler Motors in Bainbridge, GA. It is a second-owner car. The original owner traded the car in 1967 for a GTO. My aunt saw the vehicle and had to have it. All she ever talks about is how pretty and shiny it was. As a child, it was a special treat to us kids when she would let us drive it around the yard. She would never think about selling this car but under the circumstances she knows she will never be able to fix it up and would rather know that it was back on the road again with someone else than to see it finish disintigrating under her barn. Now, for what I know about the car...it has never been wrecked but she tells the story of them hitting a pig in the road that only bent the front bumper. I think my uncle had it replaced. The engine in the car is a 289 CID but is not original to the car. My aunt says that the original motor is at what we call "the old home place". I will try to look and see if I can find it. My uncle put this 289 in the car from one of my other uncle's Ford Falcon. There is one dent on the driver's side front fender beside the hood. Not major. One rot spot in front of driver's side rear tire. All the rust that appears in the pictures appears to be surface rust. Floor pans look good. Inside the trunk looks good. These pictures were taken today while the weather was 30 degrees and I was not able to clean it before taking pictures. The green you see on the vehicle is pollen. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at 229-377-1087 and I will answer them to the best of my ability. Ask for Billy. Buyer responsible for pick up.On Jan-13-11 at 12:07:16 PST, seller added the following information: Body-65A, Color-R, Trim-26, Date-14M, DSO-21, Axle-6, Trans-6. VIN is 5F07C370911. I have added these due to the fact that the pictures are unclear. I have had a lot of questions about floor pans and trunk. The original carpet is still in the vehicle as well as the original radio and gauges. As far as I can tell, without pulling the carpet up, floor pans are good. I was not able to get inside the trunk due to the fact that my aunt could only find the ignition key. However, looking under the car, the trunk is ok. The seats are torn but the framework is all still intact. I have had a lot of calls about the original engine. Everyone wants to know if they get both motors. The answer is no. This listing is for the car as is. As stated above, the original motor is said to be at the old home place. I will go on Saturday and see if it still there. Whoever purchases the vehicle will have the opportunity to buy the original motor above the price of the vehicle. On Jan-15-11 at 13:19:02 PST, seller added the following information: As you can tell, I have added more pictures. I did my best to get the shots people were asking for. I was still unable to get inside the trunk. After cleaning the car, I was amazed to see that all the chrome was in such good condition. I also looked for the original motor and found it. I was unable to view it completely due to the fact that my uncle put it in the old farm house that is falling down. From what I could see without digging through a lot of accumulated junk that has been put in the house over the years, the motor looked to be intact. Whoever ends up with the car is welcome to go to the farm house as it is only a mile and 1/2 at most away from the car. Will be glad to take them there and see if it's worth their while to dig it out. And yes, I am very much aware how important it is to have the matching number motor with the car. I took a battery with me today and the car turned over fine the first time. Then the starter would not engage. So, I'm still not sure if it will crank but it is definately not seized.
