Health and finances prevents completion so reluctantly must sell. Work completed includes: Body - New doglegs, floor panels and inner and outer box section sills welded by professional. Front valance and passenger side front fender replaced. Previous owner ran into the car with a fork lift! This car is now completely rust free. Underbody treated with rubberized undercoating. Chrome – New molding included and partially installed, grill replaced, new fresh air duct grill installed with SS mesh. All lighting has new chrome trim. Needs new bumpers. Interior – Dashboard and gauges restored and in reinstalled, seats restored with new diaphragms and finished in tan leather, needs new carpet and door panels. Heater restored and ductwork either replaced or cleaned. Seat belts needed. Roof – Frame of folding top needs refurbishing and recovering. Running gear – All replaced or refurbished with new polyurethane bushes, new rear leaf springs, rear tubular shock conversion, 7/8th inch front sway bar, new wheel bearings and renovated king pins. Electrics – New wiring loom installed. Headlights replaced with high performance halogens with heavy duty headlight wiring harness ready for installation. New taillights reverse lights installed. New battery installed. High torque gear reduction starter motor installed. Alternator rebuilt. Flamethrower coil installed . “Ignitor“ electronic ignition system replaces original unreliable points. New plugs and leads have been installed. Needs only a new rotor to complete. Fuel system – Original fuel tank reinstalled after being professionally cleaned and sealed. New solid state electronic SU fuel pump – sounds and looks like the original but much more reliable. Needs new fuel line connecting pump to carbs. Engine – Stripped and blueprinted, flywheel balanced and lightened, cylinders overbored and new pistons installed, new hardened valve exhaust valve seats, new valve guides. Head milled and ported, new camshaft bearings installed and camshaft ground. Crankshaft balanced and new bearings installed. New water pump. SU carbs rebuilt. New radiator and hoses. Oil cooler cleaned and installed with new lines. Gearbox/overdrive – Cleaned and checked. Third gear replaced. New gear shift and seating. Wheels – Wires need painting, tires need replacing. New unused chrome locknuts included. Brakes- new disks pads and calipers in front and new linings at rear. Emergency hand brake serviced. Master cylinder needs sleaving and servos need rebuilding. New brake lines need installing. Clutch – Plate recently replaced. Master cylinder needs restoring, New slave cylinder and boot ready for installation after engine and gearbox are installed. Windshield – Original is in excellent condition. Needs sun visors. Exhaust – New rear muffler and tailpipe included. Needs centre section. I paid $3,000 for this car and have spent about a further $13,500 to date. I expect it will cost about $3-4,000 to complete, at which point it should be worth close to $20,000 It comes with a Heritage Trust certificate, the original workshop manual and the mechanical service parts list, which is extremely useful and contains excellent exploded illustrations. Documentation includes progress photographs and all bills. The hard work has been done and little remains to produce a great example of this rare car. This is an opportunity for someone to get a great car at below cost. I would love to keep it but my doctor and bank manager say it must go. My loss is your bargain.
