Vehicle Detail
Well optioned and very original 1965 Mustang coupe, A code 289 4V, C4 automatic with power steering. Springtime yellow with rare Pony Interior, visibility group and spinner hubcaps. Only about 5% of 1965 Mustangs came with factory Pony Interior. The car is all stock except for an Edelbrock carb and air cleaner. Shows about 7k miles on the odometer and it may be only 107k original miles by the looks of it but I have no documentation. Data plate reads: 5R07Axxxx 65B 8 66 29Q 74 1 6 The body on the car is very good with virtually no rust. The floorpans, quarter panels, cowl, trunk, trunk drop offs, wheel wells, rocker panels, engine compartment and doors look rust free with no evidence or previous rust repair. The only bubbles I see are a couple at the very back edge of the right front fender right at the bottom, hardly noticable. The cowl does not leak. The body is very straight. Panel alignment is good. Door hinges are good and doors shut nicely. The paint is probably 20 years old, has various chips and has light cracking in some places. Most chips are very small but there is one about the size of a silver dollar on the trunk lid. There are no dents but it does have a few very small dings near the back corner of the hood. The paint still shines and it would make a great daily or weekend driver, I would call it a 15 footer. The paint has a little metallic in it, almost a light pearl that gives it a little more pop than factory Springtime yellow. Shock towers look good with no holes or cracks. Glass is good. Trim is in good shape although the front bumper has a few small rust spots on it. It is dirty in the picture but it was too cold out to wash it. The black Pony Interior is in good shape and other than the carpet I believe it is original. The seats have a couple small tears and the driver's door panel has a tear that is covered by electrical tape. The dash has not been cut and it still has the factory AM radio. Dash and gauges look good. The car has had lots of mechanical work done in the past 10 years. The motor and transmission were rebuit and have less than 5k miles on them. The oil still looks like brand new. The motor does not leak a drop although the trans has a slight leak at the pan. Engine was rebuit stock except for the addition of an Edelbrock carb. Also has new 3 core radiator, new gas tank, muffler and rebuilt power steering. The car runs and drives good. All electrical works!. That means lights, signals, heater, wiper, dash lights, horn, reverse lights, interior lights and even the factory AM radio! Front tires are nearly new, rear are in good shape. Overall this is a very good car and it would make a great weekend driver that you don't have to worry about driving and getting a chip in the paint. Gets lots of compliments and has that classic Mustang look. Car is sold as is and is available for inspection by appointment. I reserve the right to the the auction at any time but I plan to let the auction runs its course. I will not disclose the reserve in fairness to all bidders but it is very reasonable. I have done my best to describe the car but it is a 45 year old car and it is not perfect. $500 deposit due within 3 days of auction end, remainder due within 7 days. Car must be picked up within 21 days of payment being made unless prior arrangements are made. Shipping arrangements and expense are the responsibility of buyer.
