Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a hard to find 5-speed SHO MTX4 with low original ONE-owner miles. It has been adult owned, not modded-out, and has documented maintenance history (details below). What makes this SHO even more rare is that it’s a one year only special edition “Plus Package”. The video below hi-lights some of what this Plus Package entails but here is the summary: “Power-bulge” hood, chrome window trim, black mirrors, black B/C pillars, 24V DOHC side badges, rear spoiler without brake light, rod shifter upgrade, color-coded rear Taurus badge, and a one-year only color called “Deep Jewel Green Metallic. These Plus Package options were part of PKG 212A [source Wikipedia]. CHECK OUT THE HIGH AUTOCHECK HISTORY SCORE; verifying ONE-OWNER, ACCURATE MILES, and NO accidents! Please have your funds (cash or wire transfer) in order before bidding as this is a NO-RESERVE auction! I have a 100% feedback which is due mostly to me accurately describing the vehicle; SO PLEASE read the entire listing and ask questions if something is NOT addressed. I will promptly answer all emails and if you want a picture of something send your request to douglasray68@hotmail. You can also text or call me at 407-579-0191 (I can usually reply to text quicker). All serious offers considered but please no low-ball offers. Here is a snap-shot of the maintenance history; Original owner meticulously changed the oil every 3,000 or so miles. Recent maintenance includes: Rear struts & CV joints/boots (80,925), TIMING BELT, serpentine/hoses (85,090), Front brakes/rotors (88,070), New CLUTCH, clutch cable (91,401), New radiator, hoses, block flushed (95,874), Rear pads/rotors (97,524). This SHO has seen a lot of highway miles as the original owner had residences in both MI and FL. As you can see, the paint and body are in good shape. There is NO cancerous rust but do expect some surface rust in about 3-4 spots (one highlighted in video). I’ve included pictures of the underneath so you can see how solid the frame rails are (NO rust) and clean the underside is in general. I’m guessing he spent more time in Florida than in Michigan. I’ve inspected under the bra and all is well. Mechanically this SHO is pretty well sorted out with only small issues. There are no oil leaks on the ground when I pulled her out of the garage (was there for a few days), but it is a little wet around the oil pan. The Yamaha-built 220hp 3.0 Liter engine cranks right up with NO odd noises or ticking of any sort. I have done a “stethoscope” test and the internals of this engine are purring. As you can see from the video, she is idling and accelerating nicely. I have to tell ya, if I didn’t have a sweet LS1 Vette I would make this rocket my daily driver! I’ve had previous automatic SHO’s but nothing compares to the revving and shifting of this 5-speed at close to it’s 7000 rpm redline (I got her up to about 6500 in one video and it sounded great!). I was babying her in the video and did not even have it floored; that can be your job! As mentioned in the video, there is some play in the steering. I replaced the tie rods and at the very least it could use an alignment (there is some “creeking“ from the left front tire area, perhaps a bushing?? It only does it occasionally). The power steering rack does not appear to be leaking and the p/s pump seems fine. The front tires were bought new at 92,467 but the rears have about 5k left on them. The brakes stop well and do not pulse or vibrate. There are no cooling/overheating issues (the one odometer picture was taken after 30 minutes of driving). The interior is pretty clean with no dash cracks and the door panels are in good shape. The rear seats are in near new condition but age has not treated the fronts too well (especially the passenger, see pictures). ALL the power accessories work, including the power sunroof, windows, locks, mirrors, and seat. The a/c blows ice cold and the JBL audio system works fine (although I have not blasted it). The air-bag light intermittently blinks but wasn't doing it during the video. Also, all the gauges work. The sunshade that you pull to cover the sunroof is staring to flake a little but not bad. All in all a very well kept nicely preserved “survivor” that will give you years of future enjoyment. I should note that this SHO is 20 years old and not in perfect condition. As mentioned, I have a 100% feedback and do not try to pull “fast-ones”, but if I missed something that is on your “hot-list” please email, text, or call (please make no assumptions then threaten me with negative feedback later when I failed to disclose a ding or something small like that). Thanks! Doug VIDEO of walk-around showing features of rare "Plus-Package", exhaust note, small rust spot, and engine at idle. I incorrectly stated two owners when in fact the Autocheck states only one owner! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV-nHa3x5QM VIDEO of first spirited 1st 2nd 3rd gear run; explains slight steering pull and play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e8mcRAjppU VIDEO of another spirited run; I think you will be impressed with just how nice it sounds! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjPpWJnXuCw
