Vehicle Detail
Here is our 1969 Mercedes Benz 280sl for sale. This will be one of the best vehicles you will every own! The power is simply amazing for a vehicle of this age, you can't help but smile on a curvey road or on the freeway under acceleration. I purchased this car as a daily driver for my wife in Coral Gables and it was 100% reliable, she drove 2 miles back and forth to work each day and we took it on weekend excursions. We spent a long time searching for this particular color combination. The navy blue and cream interior really pop. All vin numbers match on the vehicle. I have all of the service records back to 2007 which I will include. Since we purchased it all of the work done on it was at Bela Forray in Coral Gables, FL who has rebuilt 12 of these from the ground up and works only on exotics and mulit million dollar vintage show cars. Since relocating to Houston this year Beverly Hill motors who has 10 280sl's at any given time just recently replaced the original starter. I wouldn't hesitate driving this car cross country at the drop of a hat. Whoever buys it could simply drive it home anywhere if they like. It fires up on the first try every time and settles into a nice idle. The transmission shifts smoothly between all gears. With that said the following was recently replaced or worked on recently: All new A/C compressor, hoses, condensor, pulleys, etc. New battery, new brake pads front and rear, oil, coolant and filter change 2k miles ago. Engine was recently steamed and detailed. The car has the hard top on it now, there is a blue soft top under the boot under the hard top. Headliner is nearly perfect, interior leather is excellent. Seats show almost zero wear and all kangol seat belts, chrome adjustments and seat adjustments work flawlessly. Both heat and A/C work perfect. The original spare, jack and spare tire cover are all in the trunk. I took as many pictures as I could to show all angles of the vehicle. I have a brand new complete set of all weather seals for it that I have not installed yet. Mechanically the car is 100% perfect. On the body there are 3 very small surface rust spots that were on the vehicle when I purchased it. One at the top right corner where the trunk lid is, one on the right rear fender and one on the right front fender next to the headlight bezel. They have not changed since I purchased the vehicle and I took pictures of all 3 of them. There are two little dings where the bumper nicked the front cowl at some point that can simply be painted, very small. The only other piece is the right rear tail light lense has a small hole in it. I have a replacment lens, housing and chrome bezel to put in that cost $825 which is included with the car that is an original to match the left. Hard to come by. Those are the things that need to be done to make it perfect. Bid with confidence, this is a great vehicle and we really hate to see it go! Cheers, Benjamin
