1999 VW PASSAT GLS, 1.8TURBO, TIP/AUTO TRANSMISSION, NO RESERVE!! UP for auction is a 1999 VW PASSAT GLS, 5SPEED AUTOMATIC/TIPTRONIC transmision, 1.8 TURBO motor. Power windows, power locks, power trunk, manual seats. Car has 184,311 miles and still drives great. Car starts 1st shot every time and motor runs strong and transmission shifts perfectly in AUTO mode and TIPTRONIC mode. Body is clean, but there are some dings, and scratches for this year and miles PASSAT. Paint is OK, HOWEVER, the clear has come off the hood completely, and some parts around the car. There was also some small body work done by the top of the rear passenger wheel well, and it was done poorly (paint is poorly applied). Interior is BLACK cloth and in EXCELLENT condition, no tears or rips. THIS IS A NON-SMOKER CAR with a clean ashtray and lighter. A/C is ICE COLD and operates perfectly. Cruise control operated perfectly. Radio/cassette works great. Sunroof slides open smoothly and operates up and down correctly. Glovebox and cupholder open freely and operate nicely. There are NO check engine or ABS warning lights on. ABS works perfectly. All controls and indicators work perfectly. Just passed NJ inspection and is good for 2 years. This is my daily commuter car and it runs great, I am upgrading to A8 model. There is no rust anywhere. This car painted would be perfect. GREAT GAS MILEAGE! Things that need to be addressed: 1. I lost the remote "fob" (at the shore) recently, but it comes with a full key to operate normally. Used remotes go for about $50 on ebay. 2. Needs "upper control arm" bushing on driver's side (as state by mechanic, it is worn: cost $150 to repair). There is a small "clink" every time you hit a bump on the drivers side, however car still runs straight and perfect. 3. Driver door lock outside feels "loose" and needs to tightened somehow. 4. Arm rest door hinge is broken, but the door still opens and closes. 5. A good paint job. Car would be brand new. This is a good chance to pickup a nice PASSAT for a low price. With new paint, this would be an awesome running car with lots of life left! Car can be driven cross country as it is in EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION.
