I am the sole owner/driver of this vehicle since it rolled off the dealership lot. This Jeep looks beautiful, rides great, and has a new folding soft top. In less than 5 minutes the soft top can be folded down and you can feel the breeze. Trust me, this Jeep really turns some heads with the soft top down. You're probably asking: "Steve, if this Jeep is so great, why sell it?" Well friends, I got a beautiful 9-month daughter and the wife said I had to get a bigger vehicle for the family. But hey- my loss is your gain! Read on to see why this Jeep's for YOU! Clean Exterior: I'm a big believer of taking care of what you have. That's why I washed the Jeep regularly and applied car wax to the exterior biannually (sometimes quarterly). People always say they can't believe it's a 2003. You'll also see a lot of Jeeps with gray or white fender flairs. Not on this Jeep. I apply Maguire's 'Back to Black' regularly to the fender flairs- it protects and keeps 'em looking good.Clean Interior: Friends, a good buddy of mine loved to take the top off his Jeep like me. Unfortunately, he loved to keep the top off. As a result of being exposed to the elements, all sorts of strange things were growing in his interior, and it was painful for me to see his Jeep get ruined. Not the case with this 2003 Jeep Wrangler. I only took the top off in good weather and NEVER left it exposed to the elements. My extra measures of protection is noticeable by the great interior finish. There's no fading or water damage. It looks great! By the way, I'm a non-smoker and no one has ever smoked in this Jeep. Clean Underbody: Hey, even those Jeepers that look like they took their Jeeps through a mud volcano can work a water-hose, but take a look under their Jeeps and you'll see the difference. Age and off-roading can take its toll, but you won't see that on this Jeep. About every other week, I wash under the Jeep. It takes a little more time but it's worth it. My neighbors probably think I'm crazy, but there's a reason why the underbody of this Jeep doesn't look like it sat in the Atlantic Ocean for the past seven years.Minimum Customization: Why pay $$$$ for stuff you probably don't want anyway? I see guys all the time that add thousands of dollars in accessories and expect to add it to the price during a sale. Friends, you can put your boots in the oven but that don't make em biscuits! Customization is part of the fun in being a Jeep owner, but it's unique to the individual. I kept this jeep virtually factory stocked. Other than the 31' tires, which are a modest increase from the originals, the look and feel of the Jeep is retained and wide-open to you for customization.Quality Soft Top: When I bought my Jeep it came with a Sailcloth soft top. If you're not familiar with the Sailcloth fabric, it's amazing! I had a 1989 Jeep in high school, and that soft top roared on the highway and leaked in water during rainstorms like wikileaks leaks classified documents. Not with the Sailcloth fabric! They're built better. What that means for you is a dry and quieter ride on the highway. My original Sailcloth top lasted nearly right years. I replaced it a couple months ago with a Bestop Sailcloth top- an exact fit and reproduction of the original. At nearly $900, it cost more than the cheap tops, but when you're talking about quality that lasts years longer than the others, it's worth it. On a side note, there's a HUGE difference between Jeepers that take care of their soft tops and those that don't. It pains me to see guys ball up their windows and stuff them in the back. Next thing you know, the windows are scratched so bad you can hardly see out them. I always protected the windows by placing them in a storage bag. I would encourage you to do the same, and will include a storage bad for the upper doors and windows for the winning bidder ($70 Value).Looks tough, but hasn't been Roughed: When I had my 1989 Jeep in high school, I was dumb and ran my Jeep to he** and back. The Jeep performed great and did everything I asked of it, but soon thereafter I had to replace the transmission and rebuild the engine. I told myself then I would baby my next Jeep and not rough it up. The 2003 Jeep up for bid hasn't been submerged in mud, slammed into rocks, or sunk across small rivers like some other Jeep owners would do. In fact, the most mud it has seen was from my parent's gravel driveway. Bottom line- you're getting a solid deal with this 2003 Jeep.Great Sound System: You may have noticed in the options listed above, but you should know there is a factory upgraded sound system. This includes a sound bar and subwoofer built-in to the center armrest. What that means for you is great sound, even at highway speed, and seamless integration within the interior. Alright, so you know about all the great stuff. When you own a vehicle from the time it rolled off the lot, there's bound to be a few bruises along the way, and as a former law enforcement officer I'm all about integrity and honesty. Listed below is some information you should know. DINGS/BUMPS/BRUISES:Passenger side door: They say the first ding hurts. About a week after I drove this Jeep off the lot, some lowlife ran a shopping cart into my passenger door. It created a small ding in the paint. I sanded the area and touched up, but there is a small visible blemish when you get close enough. Hood scratch: One day I was inspecting my engine and forgot to lower the windshield wipers back to the windshield. The result? Two small 'Ws' on the hood from the windshield wipers. Again, this is too small to be noticeable unless you're looking close.CD Player: The CD Player works, but it won't eject my CD. This is probably an easy fix, but I'm not a radio expert and listen to the regular radio or Sirius more anyway. Either way, you'll get a free CD with Hank Williams and CDB mix with the winning bid (unless I can figure out how to eject the CD before then). Carfax Report (11/27/2010) Odometer: The report expresses an odometer concern but this is a clerical error. The odometer is true to the reading. The error happened after I deployed from Iraq (2/28/2008) and registered the vehicle in Georgia. Owner: Carfax shows two owners. Technically, they're right. My dad bought the Jeep for me and I eventually bought it from him. However, I have been the sole driver since rolling off the lot. Accident: On 10/03/2003, a lady was on her cell phone and bumped me while I was stopped at a railroad crossing. The only damage was to the trailer hitch. I had the Jeep checked out and there was no other damage.Carfax Bottom Line: Carfax says the vehicle is worth more than average based on the information in the report. Shipping/Payment Once payment is secured and verified, the Jeep may be picked up immediately. I have the title on-hand (free and clear), so it's just a matter of verifying the information and me signing it over. I will meet the winning bidder at a convenient and safe location right off I-95 in the Fayetteville NC area.
