Vehicle Detail
I have had this TR for about 5 years. I bought it from the I believe the original owner in California with the black plates still on it. It had been sitting in his garage for about 12 years and not driven. The mileage showing is 37,XXX and from the condition of the car it could be true however I cannot verify it. I brought the car to Colorado with the intention of a full restoration. When I got it here I oiled up the cylinders for about a month with hand turning every few days and injecting more oil into the cylinders via the spark plug holes. I put some fresh gas in it and changed the inline filter and it fired right up. After it burned the oil out of the cylinders there was no more smoke and it idled pretty good on the original plugs and points. Unfortunately the fuel tank is dirtier than I thought and it eventually plugged things back up. I haven't started it again in the past couple of years due to other projects. I have looked over this car very closely and cannot find any rust anywhere on the vehivcle. It has had a repaint at sometime but there is no filler or rust anywhere. There is a little damage to the front right fender and apron as you can see in the pictures, but it very, very minor. Doors open and close with no drop. The trunk and spare tire compartment are clean and rust free. Everything is on the car except for the top. I have it and a tonneau cover for it. I do have a new gas tank for it but not installed. I have an easy $2K worth of extra parts I have bought to redo the car that will go with the car if you do a buy it now. Otherwise, I will negotiate a price after the sale to the buyer first and then put the parts up on another auction. If you really want a TR3 this is the car you need to consider. I am confident it would be in the $25-30K range completely done with the parts I have and paint. You could have it on the road by summer for very few dollars and some labor this winter. Feel fre to ask any questions. These are the pictures I have and the car is in the back of my shop and hard to get pictures of. Good luck bidding!
