I recently found this 240Z with approximately 92,000 miles on it while on a buying trip in Phoenix, AZ. I couldnt believe the overall condition when I looked at it closely, I had to have it. It had been in storage for many years and had recently been pulled out and lightly freshened up; with a gas tank flush, new battery, new alternator, new hoses, new starter, oil etc. The car is extreamly straight and appears to have zero rust anywhere, a typical Arizona car. I can only assume the owner was going to have it painted and got as far as a light coat of red oxide primer over the original orange paint. There is one spot on each side in the floor where it had been lightly draged over something, see the photos. It has all of its original interior, jack, lug wrench and even one of the original tires as a spare, although it has some time on it. The under carriage and suspension are very original, although the struts are all four dead. It also feels like a U-joint is out as there is some vibration at speed. The engine runs extreamly well with no blow by, however the carbs definately need a professional tune or maybe a rebuild. The factory A/C is all there with the exception of the fan belt, dont know the working condition. There are quite a few new parts that came with it, weatherstrip, carpet kit and lots of little bags full of NOS clips etc. It has 7 original 240z hub caps still wraped in a 1987 newspaper. A complete set of its original owners manual, literature and even some very old service records are with it.The interior is very nice and original with one split on the side of the drivers seat and one small crack in the dash, the windshield is the original Datsun glass with only one small bulls eye. I bought this car on a whim as I have always loved them, but after some careful consideration I know I will never get around to it. This car needs a serious care taker who will make it perfect again.
