1981 VW Westphalia. Excellent condition both inside and out. This vehicle has been very well kept 126k miles, 22k on rebuild. All original Second owner repainted about 6 years ago with original color ASSUAN BROWN. Window seals and chrome trim replaced. Pop top and luggage rack repainted with marine paint to protect fiberglass. Pop top canvas is original. 2.0L four cylinder air-cooled engine. 4 speed manual transmission. Original factory air conditioning but previous owner had belt removed to prolong engine life. All appliances are like new. Sink (never used) with onboard water tank and city water hookup. Two burner propane stove used minimally. Three-way refrigerator Carpet is original and like new. Previous owners have kept it covered with clear carpet runners. Full curtains. Second table for front chair seats. 6-ply tires with low miles Newer brakes Front bra Tow package with hitch and ball. Tinted windows. Original options: Blaupunkt AM/FM Cassette stereo with front and rear speakers. RARE dash cup holder Rear opening door insect net cover. Front window sleeping curtain. Side canopy. Everything for camping is included, pots, pans, plates, cups, silverware, bed linens, comforter, road maps and touring books. Also includes Rhode Gear bike rack designed for the rear hatch door of Vanagon and German after-market full size 2 room tent. Items to note: Small carpet wear spot between front seats. Some paneling paper bubbling Center cap is missing on drivers side front wheel Rear hatch paneling is cracked Antenna mast is broken Odometer occasionally will stop at 9/10 due to worn gear (a common issue with Vanagons) Gas float misreads when fuel tank gets to half full and dash gauge will show empty Small paint blisters where paint was not sanded very well. Needs a new dash light switch The front grill was replaced this summer I purchased this van in June of 2010, and am the third owner. We have put about 150 miles on it just driving in town this summer. It is truly a head-turner!
