Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1968 mercury cougar, mustangs sister. I do not know a lot about this car. I took it in trade about 2 years ago. I have about 3500 into the car but as you can see I am selling it for much less then that. The car is in overall pretty nice condition. The previous owner started to restore the car and took it apart. It has mismatched interior in it at present but I have a completee 67 cougar black interior to go with the car. The dash in the 67 is actually pretty nice and it does have the optional woodgrain wheel in it but again it is a 67 cougar. The 68 decodes as a black car according to the door tag. It is also a 302-2V car with a C4 automatic. I believe the motor and trans are correct to the car since they have C8 part numbers on them. This cougar also had P/S, PDBrakes and A/C but the air conditioning parts are missing from under the hood. The doors and front fenders are not original to the car but are in very nice shape. All of the glass is there. I was messing around with it one day trying to get it to run and it would only run if I put gas in the carb but then quit after that gas was used. I had taken a rubber line from the fuel pump to a gas can since I didn't know what condition the gas tank was in. I believe the fuel pump is bad. I bought a new one but had not had time to install it yet. The motor is free and turns over fine. There are headers and a complet dual exhaust on the car. I may try to do a few more things like get it running before the auction ends. I might see about putting the door glass in the passenger door as well. The door regulator on the drivers door seems stripped but I did but I did get the window up. The rear regulator also needs some bushing but I also got that window up. The frame rails and the torque boxes are in very nice shape. The rear quarters are actually pretty good as well. The previous owner cut one little piece out of the drivers quarter in front of the tire but the rest of the quarter is rust free, just has a small dent in the rear where the light should be. The passenger quarter is very nice except where the quarter meets the trunk floor drop off is the previous owner cut the entire lower section off but the trunk floor drop is nice. The floors are in pretty decent shape there are some small holes but nothing that could not be patched. The wiring is all intact in the car yet. This could be a very nice car when completed. According to the door tag this should be a black car with saddle interior but I do not see any evidence of saddle interior. This car is sold as is were is and I feel for the money it is a decent buy. I may be able to help with delivery if we work something out in advance. I may also take partial trades towards the car. I have some old mustangs so I would take parts for those like boss 302, boss 429 and 428CJ stuff or stuff for a 70 torino cobra. Let me know what you have .
