Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1967 Mercury Cougar. It has a 289 2-barrel. This car runs and drives nice. Transmission shifts good. The back tires are new BF Goodrich Radial TA's, 245/60R15, and the fronts are Goodyear Aquatread 3, P205/60R15. The wheels are 15x8, with no center caps and blistering chrome. There are some dents on the hood and the front of the roof, otherwise the body lines are very straight, as far as dings and dents . This car has new air shocks in the rear, many new brake parts, good dual exhaust, and a descent interior. The seat covers are all new, however, it appears that the upholstery is for a Mustang. It looks nice, but doesn't fit exactly as it should. The dash pad is not cracked, but somewhat discolored and warped. The rest of the dash and interior is not perfect, but pretty nice. The doors are rockers are not in too bad of shape. All the lights work, however the sequential tailight system is quirky. Somtimes you get all three, sometimes two, sometimes one. The hideaway headlight doors have to be opened manually, I believe the vaccum motors work, but the electric swithching part needs work. The bumpers are not perfect, but really pretty good shape. As you can see from the photos, car has rust. The passenger floor has been repaired with a thin piece of tin, not very good, and the drivers side has a rust hole in it also. The quarters are rusty below the trim line, and the front fenders at the bottom. The front of the hood and around the back window have rust also. I do have the missing trim for the back window. The frame rails are actually pretty good, but there is some other floor pan rust. The heater core has been bypassed, probably leaked. (Likely why the floor is so bad on that side.) The fan and heater controls don't seem to be hooked up, either. There is no radio. Leaks some tranny fluid and gas from the sender gasket. This car needs some work, but it is very driveable, and would make a good candidate for restoration. I have tried to descibe it as acurately as possible, my feedback is important to me. I have probably forgotten some things about the car, so ask specific questions before bidding. It is for sale locally, but once the reserve is met, it will only go to the highest bidder. On Dec-02-10 at 05:36:13 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that one of the hood hinges is sort of pulling out of it's mount. Still working fine, but thought I should mention it. You can see it in one of the pictures.
