It has a Mercedes-Benz inline 5-cylinder 2.7l turbo diesel engine with 154 horsepower and 243 ft/lbs of torque. Though this engine is small in displacement it is fast and powerful! The van gets between 17mpg - 23mpg depending on driving conditions. This van has undergone a complete, and super clean conversion from a panel truck to a versatile 13-passenger van. It now has four, rear bench seats witch are mounted on a custom laminate-coated floor, which is really easy to clean. The vehicle has the following features: driver and passenger side airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, keyfob controllers, two (2) cigarette lighter power outlets, tachometer, water temp gauge, exterior temp readout, rear window defroster, adjustable headrests for all passengers, rack & pinion steering, rear anti-roll bar, 4 wheel disk brakes, full size spare tire, 26.4 gallon fuel tank.The only issues this vehicle has other than the pictured surface rust areas are: keyfob batteries need changed, glove box needs new latch, interior "tap" lights need new bulbs and vehicle spots oil when parked due to small oil leak. It has leaked oil since I purchased it. I check oil every other fill up and add a quart per service interval - not a big deal. Runs great. USE IT AS a passenger vehicle - for wedding parties, batchelor/batchelorette parties, church outings or picking your family up from the airport - the quiet interior noise level and smooth ride make it a perfect people mover. USE IT AS a moving van – simply remove all the seats and enjoy the huge 473.0 cu.ft. of cargo space! It has been primarily used as a band vehicle for my rock band 650north (www.650north.com). During band travel we will keep the rear bench seat at home making room to set delicate equipment inside the cabin while putting the rest of the gear in our trailer. This Sprinter is rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds and it hauled our trailer full of gear (3,800 pounds) and us (4 members plus 2-4 crewmembers) easily, all the while getting 13mpg-16mpg – WHILE TOWING! Most vans get those MPGs in normal non-towing use – that’s what is awesome about Sprinters they do anything you want them to do efficiently and dependably. The seating configuration is as follows: (From front to rear) two comfortable front captain chair seats with adjustable height, seatback, lumbar and armrests. All seats in the van have extendable headrests and cupholders. Next behind the front captain seats is a three-passenger bench seat. Behind that is another three-passenger bench seat. Behind that is a two passenger bench seat (a shorter row to accommodate the dual-wheel wheel wells; and finally in the rear is another three passenger bench seat. The first two rows of three passenger bench seats are positioned with easy access to the sliding side door and the back two rows (the two passenger and the last three passenger rows) are more spacious and require a short walk towards the rear of the van to access. All rows are heavy, durable and easily removable with the help of a friend. I have added many extras to the van - they include: a Curt trailer hitch, trailer brake controller, both a 7 pin round and 4 prong flat trailer light adapter and after market stainless steel wheel simulators. Also the van has had all routine maintenance performed by Stoops Freightliner in Indianapolis, IN. It runs well and is very powerful, fast and nimble for a vehicle of its size. There are some exterior and interior blemishes including (all the following are pictured): a couple rust spots, the glove box door doesn’t stay shut without using Velcro or a rubber band as the latch needs a spring, the previous owner used tape to keep the glove box shut and the tape left stains on the dash.
