THE OVERVIEWOffered for an appreciating new owner is this cool collectible little classic California blue license plate 1976 BMW 2002.       THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION OR YOU MAY PURCHASE WITH BUY-IT-NOW-PRIOR TO FIRST BID WHICH STARTS @ ONLY $500! Finished in "jadegrun" over black cloth interior, this is a presentable "driver-quality" example of the last year of the famed  BMW 2002 sedan. It features a nice running factory 2.0 liter inline four cylinder engine mated to an upgraded 5 speed manual overdrive transmission [from a later 320i]. It sports the desireable factory crank sunroof, CD stereo, cloth "Recaro"-type sport seats and period-correct 13" basket weave alloy wheels with excellent Bridgestone tires. The five-digit odomeer currently shows just over 46,000 miles but typical of these old cars the true mileage can not be verified or confirmed. This example came equiooed with factory air conditioning. The parts had been removed before my acquisition though, as shown in the photo, will be included in the sale of this car. The cult classic BMW 2002 is THE car that put BMW on the map four plus decades ago! Consumer Reports magazine named it one of the top ten most influential automobiles of the last 50 years! Automobile magazine a few years back also named the 2002 on their list of the 100 coolest cars of all time! With that said this is a nice last-year example with the California blue license plates that will roll on for another decade or two for a very low initial investment and inexpensive yearly maintenance costs! [And for insurance I highly recommend www.Hagerty.com]  PLEASE CALL 650-307-2251 or 800-420-0223 FOR QUESTIONS, TEST DRIVES OR  MECHANICAL INSPECTIONS  THE BODY AND TRIM I would rate the exterior finish of this car quite good and fairly presentable overall for its age....a good solid "6+" on a scale of "10". The car has received one correct-color repaint over its lifetime and shows some blemishes and paint nicks along with a few small surface bubbles on the lower fender and rocker panels. The floors and shock towers are very solid and the bumpers and trim look to be original and correct with some expected patina on the exterior finish.   THE INTERIOR. The inside of this classic double 02 is in good condition overall. The carpets have been redone, the door panels are very good as is the headliner. The sport seats are very comfortable showing some wear on the cloth surfaces. The dash is heat cracked and has a slightly "hazy" finish to the vinyl covering. The cd stereo works ok but the small speakers are wanting. The heater fan works acceptaby as do the gauges and other controls like lights and blinkers. The odo is inop and the speedometer reads a bit "optimistically" due to the 5 speed conversion. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This little Bimmer starts, runs and drives quite well and fairly smoothly down the road. The engine has good power, the car shifts well with sloight notchiness to the linkage. The exhaust is quiet with newly installed manifold. The braking is as it should be and the car handles well and responsively with its original unmodified supple suspension. Overall this car brings a smile to your face driving on the open road while garnering much atention from fellow Bimmerphiles and classic car enthusiasts. $$$$$$$$$$$$ & DETAILS 1.
