Vehicle Detail
This is an original 66 GT convertible. This is a factory GT not a clone. It has the correct steering box, exhaust, fog lights, manual front disc brakes, A code engine, you name it I checked it. The original disc brake master cylinder was changed out. I have an original in a box along with a lot of other parts. This car is not over done. It has manual steering, wire wheel hubcaps, standard black interior, power top and a full console. Every available accessory was not thrown at it. It is not restored. It has been repainted. The nice part about a factory GT is that it is already worth $6,000-$8000 more in good condition, a factory GT convertible is even rarer I bought this car three years ago with the plans of stripping it down to bare metal and building it back up. It has sat in the garage and only been pulled out for parades and the occasional drive around the block. Every time I do drive it, it gets lots of attention. Expecially with the signal flare red color. I do not want to sell the car but have way to many other hobbies to give this car the attention it deserves. The car is not in show condition but is a pleasure to drive. The floor pans need patching and/or replacing. There is surface rust on most of the undercarriage. I was not concerned since I was planning on a complete restoration. I have included several pictures of the underside and can e-mail any special requests. Like I said it is 44 years old and ready for a restoration. The transmission was just gone through with all new internal and exterior seals replaced. With cars that are rarely driven the seals are the parts that dry out and have the most problems. There are a few areas I am working on too keep it a nice driver while waiting on my eventual restoration. The top drivers side convertible clamp. The bolt that the latch rotates on broke off and it will not pull tight. Since I was planning on replacing one, I purchased both sides complete latches that go with the car. I have not installed them yet. The rear seat has a rip along the seam on the hump. A complete set of new covers for all the seats is included with tools and upholstery kit. The drivers door key lock was frozen, I have replaced it, but not all the door rods, window, vent window, and crank have been reassmbled. All the parts are there including brand new door panels for both sides. The new matching passenger door lock and ignition are included too. There are various other parts, manuals, wiring diagrams that go with the car. There is a complete set of aftermarket black seat belts. The ones in the pictures are tan. I was able to find the original rear seat belts under the seat. The fronts were missing when I got the car. Please no e-mails with low ball prices. I don't need to sell this car, but I would like to clear out my garage a little. I have the title and registration in hand. I will try and answer legitimate questions right away. The car is located in Highland, CA 92346. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I can make arrangement for anyone that would like to see the car before the auction ends. Cashiers check will need to clear before I will hand over the car and title. I had a question about the buck tag on the car. I am adding a picture that show the tag. Clearly shows the P10 for a factory GT.
