Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1968 Dodge Charger with the numbers matching 383, and a automatic transmission. The car has A/C that blows out cold, ( see picture of thermometer at 36 degrees) power steering, power disc brakes, and several other options!! The car is rock solid with NO RUST ISSUES, and she was painted about 9 months ago. The car is a daily driver here in Vegas and she runs nice and cool in the summer time. The vinyl top is brand new, and the interior overall is in very good condition. The car has the original engine that has about 5,000 miles on the rebuild, and the transmission was rebuilt at the same time the engine was gone through. She was bored .030 when she was rebuilt. The engine and transmission are sealed up tight with no spots of fluid on the ground where I park her. The car will be sold to the highest bidder, and the great thing is NO RESERVE!! I have the original newspaper from 1968, that shows the dealership the car was purchased from, and is just a cool piece of history to have!! VIN# XP29H8B182696 ENGINE/ TRANSMISSION: The engine is the original V8, 383 with a 4 barrel carb on top. The engine has a aluminum intake manifold, which is an Edelbrock Performer manifold. The car just had a tune up, changing the points/ condenser/ cap/ rotor/ plugs, and wires too. The car has a new fuel pump. New fuel tank and sending unit also. The engine runs great, starts up and is ready to go anywhere. She starts right up, no smoking or knocking of any sort on this old girl!! The power steering works just fine, and the power disc brakes work fine also and have plenty of pad left on them. The vacuum operated headlights still work correctly also!! The transmission is the original 727 automatic transmission that shifts just fine. She is sealed up nice and tight, and has a custom chrome pan on her, and it’s not a cheap one either! The rear end is the 8 ¾, with 3:23 gears back there, and the car does not have a posi though. INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR: The interior is in good shape for being 42 years old. The front and rear seats are good with no rips of tears in them. The console is worn with a couple cracks in it. The carpet is good, the headliner is good with no rips but, the rear panels are worn and show there age. ( needs new ones) The passenger door panel looks great, and the drivers panel shows normal wear for its age. The dash has some cracks in it, and overall the dash bezel is ok. The speedo is not working correctly at this time. All the other gauges work correctly on the car though! The blinkers work, and all the lights work on the car, including the blinkers in the hood. The radio does work in the car, and I have the original radio that goes with the car too. The glass is all good on the car, and the windows roll up and down just fine too. The wipers work, horn works, and so do the hazard lights. The exterior is very good overall, as the car was painted about 9 months ago and looks great. The car is very straight with very good body lines. The chrome is decent on the car, with the rear bumper showing some pitting. The rims are in good shape, and the rear tires have about 80% tread left on them and the front tires are brand new. Newer shocks all the way around her, and she rides great. There are a couple small holes in the trim just below the grill. Like I said she is a Daily Driver, and not a show car! I also have the California Black License Plate for the car, just like she would have had back in 1968! INFO: The car is a very, very nice daily driver type car. The car is NOT perfect, but it’s 42 years old also. Please know this before bidding. I tried to cover the car the best I could so, if you have any questions please email me, and I will answer them ASAP. There's no warranty on the car, and it's sold "AS IS". The car may be inspected anytime BEFORE the auction closes! I may end the auction at anytime. The wining bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements. There is a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of the auctions end. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the auction closing. ONLY THE DEPOSIT MAY BE PAID WITH PAYPAL, THE REMAINING BALANCE MUST BE CASH, OR A CASHIER'S CHECK. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thank You and good Luck!On Nov-16-10 at 21:32:34 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the questions in regards to the car, hopefully this helps you guys out. The block is stamped 5/13/68, and casting # 24681307. The radiator support is stamped B8X090066 is what it looks like to me. I have several pictures of the undercarriage of the car and if your a serious buyer I would gladly send them to you. Please just shoot me an email, thanks Shawn
