For your bidding consideration is a 1972 VW Bug, the odometer says approximately 46,000 plus some odd miles at this time the engine was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago. Each cylinder registers a compression reading of 95 pounds, checked by a VW mechanic. The car had been sitting covered in a garage for 10 years due to the fact that the previous owner decided to purchase a new car but still wanted to keep this Bug for some reason. The car was purchased, new tires installed and approximately 1500.00 was spent on getting the car in shape for daily driving ie. valves adjusted, engine check, oil change, manual trans fluid change, exhaust and intake work, new air filter, vac lines replaced, gaskets replaced, new mirrors, new antenna etc etc... Included are various parts as well, outer trim, steering shock, new interior carpet kit, new glove box lock/knob, these will still need to be installed by the high bidder but are included in the sale. The car appears to look quite nice and was repainted at one time by the previous owner, the front seats are in great shape, the rear seat needs recovering, headliner and dash should be replaced also. The weatherstripping around the doors and windows are not in great shape and I would suggest replacing them as well. The car does need some attention, it is a good daily driver as is. If it were me though II would give it the limited attention it needs to make it perfect again. I am selling this car for a friend who isnt familiar with selling on Ebay. The title is clear, no BS or lack of proper paperwork from DMV after the sale. Needless to say this vehicle is "older" I cannot predict what could go wrong in the future if anything, but having owned a VW Bug before I would rate this car as a good candidate as a keeper. I hesitate to list it as I have an interest in buying it, but I gave my word to the owner I would help him turn it over to get some much needed cash for his new home. He wants to sell it as he has three vehicles, just purchased a new house and doesnt have the time to keep up with his toys. As I mentioned I wanted to buy it myself but Im in the middle of a BMW 325es restoration and paint process at this time. I am currently in possession of the car as I am borrowing it to drive locally while my BMW is taken apart for the paint process. I did originally take possession of it thinking I could come up with the money, I love German cars. I really like fast cars like my BMW far more than a VW right now Im guessing. I will add more pics, Im certain I will be asked this so it isnt a problem. I will do so within a day. I was to have listed this car 3 days ago but didnt get around to it, so for now I will provide the pics I have. There is no warrantee and this car is sold "as is" if you are interested in having the car inspected if you dont live locally I will accomodate an inspection with an appointment set with the person you choose. This item can be picked up in person as well by appointment with a cash payment at the time of exchange or pick up by shipper. Cash payment should be made and is prefered within two days of the close of this auction, if a Cashiers check is used a period of three weeks minimum will be used as a delay before the item is released to insure the payment clears. I am certain it would be sent for "collection" to avoid any uneeded drama to insure a cashiers check would clear the bank. I need to speak with the owner and familiar myself more with what the best route for payment is normally here on Ebay for an auto sale. This is the first car I have sold here so the payment details is subject to change for the protection of the seller.
