For sale I have a '78 Westy in excellent condition. Odometer reads 39,393. Engine was replaced with a new 2.0l engine, not rebuilt, in 2007 at odometer reading 32,999 (6,394 miles on the new engine). This is a Boston Bob tuned engine. I am told by the installer, Dave at Das Autohaus in Lawrence, KS that it is the last engine he tuned. A new 4 spd manual transmission was installed at 33,229 (6,164 miles on the transmission), new starter at 33,318 and front tires at 34,667. The engine and transmission alone were $7,900. As well she was painted in 2007 with a mix matching the 1978 stock color Sage and she has been garaged ever since. New ball joints, pitman arms and fuel pump in 2007. New canvas in 2008. The sink pump runs, the range and propane tank are fully operational. The refrigerator kicks on but does not cool. There is a newer Aiwa 45x4 watt CD/MP3 player and 4 6x9 speakers. All original manuals are included as well as the ottoman, front dash table, dining table, rear hatch bug screen, and front privacy drape. The only mechanical issues with the van are that the pop top on the rear drivers side slider is bent. It is still fully functional. Beyond that this van is in excellent shape!
