Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with power steering (Arizona born and raised with no rust) which recently went through an extensive cab off/frame off restoration. Prior to my restoration - This cruiser came from Arizona and had no protruding rust anywhere before the restoration and had very little surface rust (see pictures). I have never seen a cruiser with this little amount of rust before. I brought it up to Colorado in the Fall of 2009 and started on the project. It also ran and drove good prior to the restoration. I can email a hundred pictures to you if you would like or I can send you specific pictures if you would like, just let me know. The restoration – This was an extension frame off restoration. The cab/tub along with the entire front clip was removed from the frame and the frame, axels and drivelines were all sand blasted and painted. The engine was mostly stripped down and painted and new seals and gaskets were replaced (see below for seals and items replaced). If it was in need of replacing or refinishing, it was done. Almost exclusively used factory zinc plated nuts and bolts for nostalgia. The majority of the replacement parts that were used were OEM. The bottom was rock guard coated along with the under portions of the front fenders. All paint used for the restoration of the body, wheels and misc parts are factory spec and look great! New, factory re-arched springs with full length add-a-leaf for a 2 ½” lift (this has been my favorite lift because it is a nice smooth ride and creates the perfect stance) new U-bolts and new Pro-Comp shocks New Power steering and new exhaust ran from the manifold back. 33 X 10.50 BFG Mud-Terrains Reconditioned, Toyota factory grey steel rims with Toyota factory chrome center caps Re-upholstered seats New floor mats, dash cover, sun visors, mirrors, glove box schematic, shifter knobs, door handles, strikers, door seals, dome light, headliner and much more! New door seals all around, new window gaskets, top-to-cap seal, top-to-tub seals New rear bumperettes, front bumper, marker lights, emblems, reflectors, etc. New power steering pump, thermostat, intake/exhaust manifold gasket, push rod cover gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, Timing cover gasket, crank seal, steering knuckle seals, rear output shaft seal, front nose cover seal and all new fluids Rebuilt Weber Carb, new air filter, plugs, wire, cap and rotor. Induction cleanse just performed, Optima Red top battery New JVC CD player with iPod hook-ups, auxiliary input, HD and Satellite radio ready. The CD player has been mounted in the dash so that the dash would not be cut and no holes were cut for the speakers. If it was in need of restoration or replacement, it was restored or replaced. The restoration was thorough and smooth. Using the factory Freeborn Red, proper single stage paint, this cruiser’s body should be better than when it rolled off of the showroom floor! Every spot-weld dimple remains signifying the rust free Arizona body. If you have the means, I would recommend coming out to see for yourself. I restored the; factory seat belts, instrument cluster, pull knobs, glove box, ash tray, seats, center console, doors, top, rear license plate carrier, swing out, front and rear heaters, roll bar, engine compartment and so on and so forth. There was much more done and replaced, but I cannot list it all. I reserve the right to cancel any bid that I feel may be fraudulent. If you have an eBay rating/score of less than 5, please contact me prior to bidding. This Cruiser runs and drives great and looks even better. Everything down to the cigarette lighter works as it should. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions – (Nine seven zero) 640 – three six zero three. Thanks, John I just realized that these pictures were taken the day before I installed the vent tubes for the heater to the defroster, the toyota stereo plate and the missing dash plug located left of the knobs on the dash. I assure you that they are there. The truck is complete and is not missing anything. I will get a picture of those uploaded tonight. Thanks again! I finally figured out how to add a link for the additional pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/55754228@N03/sets/72157625358530104/
