Vehicle Detail
Hello, thank you for your interest in this nice little BMW. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! I am going to sell this car! This is a very nice and tight 1974 BMW 2002 Coupe. This little car is very rare and has even rarer; an automatic transmission! Prior to me owning this BMW, I was told that this was only a 2 owner car. This BMW is almost 100% rust free. All fender wells and fender lips, trunk and body pans, shock towers, hood, trunk lid, and doors are all RUST FREE. There is one small spot cancer spot on the right side rocker panel in front of the rear tire below the lower body molding. Otherwise there are no major rust areas! Any visible rust is surface rust only, and would not be a concern if one was to repaint or restore this car. The engine runs very strong! It does not smoke or leak. This is a carbureted model 2002 BWM! It starts every time and idles smooth. As described, this car has an automatic transmission which makes it simple and easy to drive for anyone. The transmission does seem to slip slightly when the car first takes off, but after that, the car shifts well and seems to drive as it should. I am unsure if this slippage is because this car has been sitting for many years, or if this automatic transmission can be adjusted. The tires have good tread, and as I have mentioned, this car has sat for many years. With this said, there seems to be flat spots in the tires that can be felt when the car is driving at faster speeds. I would recommend changing the tires to avoid this vibration. However the flat spots may go away with time if you care to wait it out. The interior is all original. The headliner is very nice, the dash pad has only one small crack, the door panels and rear side panels are in good shape. The carpet is all original and shows signs of fading. The seats are original, and the driver seat has been worn. The passenger and rear seats seem to look good, but they are dry, and I fear they may split in the future. I would recommend a new seat cover kit, and possibly new carpet. The headliner, dash and door panels are all very usable and would not need replacing if one was to restore this car. The paint is fair; it does not shine as it should. The car is presentable with this paint job, but for a show car or restoration, you will may to repaint it. All the glass is in excellent condition. The rear glass has the rear window defogger option. This car is tight and does not seem to leak water or air; however you may want to replace the front and rear window seals, as well as the door seals as they all show signs of dryness and age. Please feel free to call me with any questions. This car is located in the Denver Colorado area. The best way to contact me is by phone. Please call anytime to 303-886-0422 Thank you, Todd As always with any used car; this car is sold in "as is" condition with "no warranty"
