Get ready for winter and fuel economy with an AWD Subaru! We are the 2nd proud owners of this Outback and have had zero issues with it. I spoke with the previous previous owners before purchasing. They were a retired couple in St. Charles, IL, and took excellent care of the car. We purchased the car when it had a little over 80K on it, and we have put another 60K on it since 2003. The car was garage kept by my family and the previous owners. We recently moved from Elmhurst, IL to Doylestown, PA. The car is here with us in Doylestown. I would drive this car cross-country without thinking twice about it. It takes a while to gain confidence in the reliability of an automobile, but this one long ago secured my confidence. It was our first Subaru but certainly not the last. Subaru owners know they are every bit as reliable and long-lasting as Honda and Toyota with the benefit of full-time AWD. I have had 4X4 Jeeps and 4WD SUVs that have not had the kind of tracking, control, and balance this car has in wet and snowy weather. I believe in taking proper care of an automobile. This car has not been abused or neglected. All maintenance has been performed on-schedule. I am religious about oil changes and addressing small issues before they become big issues. I had the timing belt changed at 110K and the old belt looked like new. The car gets regular tune-ups as well but it's getting close to due. I have waxed it once or twice per year, every year. Still, the car has bumbs and stains here and there that won't show up in the pictures. I think the car looks great but I'm biased. Also, I have kids, and if you do to, you know they trash everything. We've managed to keep it looking good under those conditions, but please do not expect perfection. There is a about a 10 inch scratch on the driver, rear quarter panel. I don't know where that came from but it's been there a while. There is a fingernail-sized scratch in the hood, and some wear on the bumpers and wheels. A rock knocked out the passenger side fog lamp about 3 years ago, but I don't use them so I never replaced it. It's a pretty clean interior but still has some residual dog hair to be seen. BTW, this is a great car if you're a dog person. I had a tough rubber-like mat for the rear that keeps the back neat and clean. I really do love this car and I've done a lot of hand-wringing before deciding to get another car. It's roomy, safe, fun to drive (I think), nice roof racks, very practical, and surprisingly good gas mileage for a car with AWD. The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine I think powers the car nicely without excessive power that would pull the fuel economy down. The car also has almost-new 80,000 mile premium Goodyear Assurance with Comfortread Technology all-weather tires. I think there are perhaps 10K miles on these tires. Very nice tires with a smooth ride. It has power windows/locks/mirrors, heated seats, cruise control, good working AC/heat... the list goes on. Oh, and it *had a key-less remote by my wife left the keys on top of the car one day and, well, no more remote. You can probably pick one up on eBay pretty cheap.
