Up for auction is a 51 Ford F1 in like-new condition finished about 1-1/2 years ago. The truck was used and still is for weekend shows and some cruising. The underside has new springs front and back. The rear-end is original with new axle bearings. A 5-speed transmission was installed for cruising at highway speeds since trucks were geared low for work and didn’t go over 45 mph because of high RPMs. This transmission allows the truck to cruise at higher speeds like overdrive. The engine is a 239 cubic inch flathead which was rebuilt some time ago by the previous owner at a reliable shop in northern California, Red’s Headers. According to last owner, the truck was driven very little since. Oil pressure 50 at idle 70 High way, Brakes were rebuilt, disc front and drum rear. The truck handles great, one hand steering on freeway, stays straight, no wobble. It is a six-volt system with an alternator and a 975 CCA tractor battery. The carburetor and fuel pump were rebuilt. Belts are new. All new running lights were installed with directional lights. The radiator was replaced 3 years ago and has run in 105 degree weather without overheating. The tires are all new along with American Racing wheels; also side-mount spare. This was the five star cab with arm rests and door panels. The cab was insulated including floor with sound board and finished with black naugahyde and black floor carpet. Interior door light works along with dash lights as they should. It has storage box behind seat for jack and tire wrench, blocks and whatever. Gauges all work with oil and amp gauges under dash. Fuel and temp are in original place in dash. The chrome was all done except for vent windows which are fine. The stainless was all polished. The grill, which is usually painted was done in chrome to a tune of $600 for that alone. The radio speaker, ash tray, glove box, front bumper and rear bumper and hood chrome also done. The exterior was taken apart to cab on frame and doors removed. Fenders, truck box, everything left that could be taken apart was. All parts blasted and body work done. Parts were primed and finished with 07 Mustang burgundy and clear coated. All parts put together with stainless bolts, nuts, and washers. Gaskets and welting were used on all joints even on joints the factory did not put gaskets. They were made special. Truck has some paint knicks and such it is not perfect. The truck has no wipers installed. Truck was used for shows. I liked them off, and since truck was never in rain. I have a set with new switch I will provide with truck – not installed. New glass packs and pipes. The heater was also deleted originally since work trucks usually were, along with radios in the 50s. It saved money. I have heater for truck. Bed runners are also new polished stainless and new wood and covering. Will throw in adjustable lifters plus high conpression set of heads not installed I was going to sell each afterward. I was going to relist the truck in the spring because of holidays were comming I thought everyone would be spending their resources else where so I am giving it one more time at just buy it now.
