Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2000 Ford Contour SE Sport. Cruise control, power driver's seat, moon roof/sun roof, ABS brakes, AC blows cold. Pioneer Stereo with AUX for mp3 player or satellite radio. I bought this car used in 2004 and it has been my main car since then. It had a Ford remanufactured engine installed shortly after I bought it. Now here's everything you need to know. ANY BIDDER WITH 0 FEEDBACK WILL HAVE HIS/HER BID CANCELLED (see bottom of description as to 'why'). About 3 months after I bought it the engine developed a tick. I found out it was something deep in the engine, so I worked with Ford directly and they, through the dealer, had a newly remanufactured engine installed. The cost of that replacement was over $4000 ( i only had to chip in a little). The car had about 34,000 miles on it at that point. I had the following recently repaired: Replaced transmission cooler lines, transmission speed sensor switch, transmission fluid, spark plugs and wires, oil and filter changed. When I took the car in for cooler line replacement (tranny fluid was leaking), the garage stated that the car also needs rear shocks and possibly front shocks, i can't remember exactly about the front, but the car has a clunking sound from the front left. I know the lower control arm bushing needs to be replaced every couple of years so it could be that too. The engine light comes on about every one or two weeks. The garage said the code needed to be checked out by Ford-that it could be a recall or something. About once every 6 weeks the start spins at first attempt to start, but then the car starts right up and sounds fine. Maybe that will need to be replaced within 6-12 months. And most recently the garage said the flex pipe where the exhaust meets the cat converter needs to be replaced. There are a couple of smaller things, like the ceiling light housing has separated from its fastener at the front toward the windshield. See the picture. It still functions fine. The trunk gets damp towards the outer side. The weather stripping where the windows enter the door has always been a challenge to keep glued down. There's rust at the bottom of all four doors. See pictures. Two years ago someone turned left into my left front end; had the bumper and left headlight replaced. Nothing else was damaged. But like I've said, i have used the car exclusively for over six years. It never left me stranded. The engine and tranny seem nice and smooth. Except when the tranny leaked fluid and slipped a couple of times, the transmission has always shifted nice and smooth. Since getting the cooler lines/leak replaced the transmission has been silky smooth again. Like I mentioned before the engine light comes on and the suspension needs repair, but other than that it starts all the time and runs nice on my 50 mile per day commute to work - all highway by the way. The car has always passed emissions testing. It is a 10 year old car so of course it is being sold AS IS. I have listed the things I know to be wrong with it. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Or feel free to setup a time to come and look at it. Oh, and I had to RELIST because some scam artist chose Buy it Now and then unregistered and wanted to send me a check for more than the purchase price, blah blah blah, you know the scam. As a result of this I have relisted with no Buy it Now option, and ANY BIDDER WITH 0 FEEDBACK WILL HAVE HIS/HER BID CANCELLED. Thanks, Tony
