This car was campaigned in SCCA IT-C class in Pennsylvania many years ago and has a few scratches and dents to prove it. A couple of friends and I bought the thing in 1998 thinking it would be vintage racing eligible by the time we got around to prepping it. As it has worked out, all we have ever done with it has been to occasionally start it up, pop open a couple of beers, and listen to the great race car exhaust sounds. We've never driven it further than on and off the trailer when moving to different storage. It has been stored inside while we've owned it, but being a Fiat it has continued to rust a bit. The car is an easy and cheap project. It could be restored or could be used as a parts car for another X1/9 racecar project. I think it is the last year (1980 model year) of the carbureted, but early 1500cc 5-speed. It has adjustable suspension components, fuel cell, roll cage, MSD ignition, race seats, at least one extra set of wheels and tires. Motor runs strongly. It comes with a trailer which would need some new tires to go any distance. Differential binds but trans shifts well. Open title from previous owner; will provide bill of sale.On Oct-19-10 at 16:51:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a picture showing the rust at the points where supplemental jacking tabs were welded to the rear crossmember. This is the worst rust in the car, and it is not structural. We do have the log book.
