Vehicle Detail
Very low original mileage 1991 Dodge W250 LE Cummins 4x4 for sale. At the time of writing this, actual original mileage is 66,211 (mileage will be slightly higher after auction). This truck has been was one family owned before me and has the original books (see photo). I think you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner first generation truck. This truck was very well cared for, the original paint on that shines like new. LE package -power windows, locks, mirrors, and nicer stereo. The truck had a camper shell on the vehicle from purchase and was garaged most it’s life. I removed the camper last year and it is no longer available. The paint in the bed is in tact and actually shines like it is new with some scratches, (see photos). There are a couple blemishes here in there but the paint is original. There are couple scrapes on the truck and where the camper rested. There are two small cracks on the grill (see photo), I never actually notice the second one before the photos. There is NO rust on the truck, none. This was a dry California truck and now a Texas truck. There has never been a gooseneck on this truck. There is a bed mat and under that mat is shiny paint from the factory, doubt the bed was ever used. The truck recently had its safety inspection, which it passed with no issues. The inspector said he had not seen a cleaner first Generation since 1993. The engine runs perfect. It starts immediately. The engine is very clean. The brake hydro-booster was weak when I got the truck and it was replaced earlier this year. Mechanically, the truck is in great condition. Everything works as it should with one exception. The A/C did not blow cold when I got the truck. We updated the system and charged it. The system would really freeze you out after that. A buddy that has been using the truck said it stopped cooling for a couple days but it is working again. I believe the compressor is on its way out and possibly need of a charge, it is not locked up. This may not be a big deal since things have cooled off but I am if I was keeping the truck I would have it replaced before the heat of next summer. It made it through the summer and might last longer but it's definetly going out. I called about getting a new one and they are a little under $200 and on national backorder for 3 weeks, possibly longer. This may not be a big deal to some but I wanted to disclose this issue. It may last but it is an issue. The truck drives very, very well. It drives completely straight, no shaking or shimmering. The Michelin tires have 85-90% tread left. One of the front hubcaps has a bit of a dent in it, I ought to bang it out but I have not. I replaced a power window motor on the driver’s side several weeks ago, couple hundred bucks. I think the rear drums need a little adjustment but they never bothered me as the truck stops perfectly straight. The interior is in very good condition considering it’s age. The dash is excellent as it has an old carpeted dash pad which has protected it from the sun. There are no cracks. I left it there because it came with the truck a true grandpa feature. The carpet is in excellent condition (see photo). The seat is missing a small part of the piping on the driver’s far left side, see photo. And there is a cosmetic piece of vinyl missing just under that. There are a couple marks stains on the seat, most will likely come out with a little elbow grease (see photo). The seat is not wallowed out and the springs are just fine. The power windows work perfect as do the power locks and mirrors. The radio is also in proper working condition including the tape deck (haha), but you can play an Ipod through it. The truck has an ancient electric trailer booster. There is now a pyrometer that set on the dash, it can be easily taken off if undesired. I consider it important on a diesel. The driver’s window power window motor was professionally replaced and works perfect. The headliner is beginning to sag on the truck, I am planning on having that re-done this week, prior to sale. My buddy has been driving out to West Texas on I-10, he says driving 70-75 the truck has been getting 20+ MPG. This is a 18 year old truck but it drives out very well. I would drive this truck to Alaska tomorrow, it is that dependable and solid. Anyone buying the truck can fly into Austin and drive it home. I would be happy to pickup the new owner at airport. Check my feedback, the truck is very nice, not perfect but very, very nice. Title is in hand, ready for a new owner, however the registration is now expired. I am sure i am forgetting something but that is pretty much it. It is not a perfect truck but a truly clean first generation truck. You will not be disappointed, it’s a very nice truck. This used truck is being sold without a warranty, express or implied. I require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the auction. The remaining amount is due within 72 hours unless approved by seller.
