Up for auction with NO RESERVE we are offering this 1983 Jeep CJ7. We recently picked up this CJ at an auto auction in Ft. Myers, FL and it is now time to offer it to the Ebay community. The current odometer reading is around 19800 but due to the age of this vehicle we believe that this does not represent the actual mileage however, the title shows mileage EXEMPT for its age. This Jeep is powered by a good running 4 cylinder engine attached to a 4 speed manual transmission which shifts thru all gears without issues. Tires are 33 X 12.5 R 15. The 4WD engages and works fine both in 'high' and 'low'. Please, note that it's a little difficult to switch back to 2WD once the 4WD is used. This is caused by the normal wear of the transfer case. The seats are in good shape, the carpets are brand new, all gages work fine, radio works but sound comes out of one speaker only. The floors have been previously repaired on both sides and I would grade the job a 5 out 10. Luckily, the brand new carpeting gives this Jeep a great look from inside. The body is pretty much straight, there are a few areas that have been repaired but in this case, the quality of the repairs is superior to that of the floor. Some rust can be spotted on the undercarriage, normal on these jeeps unless you are willing to spend over $15k on a frame off restoration. Some of the chassis mounts show excessive wear and will need replacement. Also, a plate that is welded on to the frame, on which one of the chassis mounts seats, is heavily rusted and will need to be repaired. One more thing that will need attention is the lighting system. The fog lights work but the headlights don't and I am not sure if the tail lights work or not. The windshield is cracked, but it doesn't obstruct the view of the driver. Some of the repairs we performed on this Jeep before listing it up for sale are: *New rear axle shafts (2) upgraded to one piece shafts (brand new, purchased from Morris 4X4 Center); *Replacement of driver side rear brake drum (complete, used); *Replacement passenger side front wheel spindale (used) and hub seal; *Replacement passenger side front wheel 4X4 lock; *Install new carpet throughout; *Fully detailed inside and out; and a few other things. Overall this Jeep looks very nice. Please, keep in mind that you are bidding on a 27 y/o vehicle.
