Vehicle Detail
First of all I beleive this car to be worth much more than my buy it now price. Storage was lost and I must sell. This is one fine and nice car. The price is 4000.00 and that is my reserve. I'm being up front and honest here. A deal for someone who is awake out there in Ebay land. This is a 1978 Chrysler Newport and is a true survivor. I’m the second owner. It has an actual 58,000 plus miles. I still drive it. It’s powered by its original 400 4 barrel V8 engine with an automatic transmission. The car appears to have 100% original paint and has an all original immaculate cloth interior. It’s always been garaged! The car is as straight as your going to find anywhere and shows no rust at all. There appears to be NO rust or bubbling under the vinyl top. I’ve taken a few pictures of the flaws in the body and look closely at the passenger side rear door. The old fellow parked it since new in the same garage spot by a screened door and opened it into that door for over 30 years. Although it’s not dented the paint has an area of about 10 " by 6 " thats rubed off a bit. The other areas are very minor and don’t take away from this cars appeal. I consider these “character flaws”. To me it validates the cars originality . The dark ruby red color really makes all imperfections hard to see. The paint still has a terrific shine. The vinyl top is perfect. The interior is outstanding. This car is equipped with power steering and brakes. The air still blows cold it has a power drivers side front split bench seat. The factory AM FM 8 Track all still works too. The car is also equipped with a tilt and telescopic steering column. The headliner is starting to droop a bit as all did of this vintage. The trunk area is as nice as the interior of the the car too! The spare has never been on the ground. The jack is in as new condition also. Overall the car is in great shape and should be able to be driven any where. The tires are good but old. Consider this if your thinking on driving it home long distances. One of the rear tires feels as though it has a broken belt. At highway speeds you can feel a slight rear area wobble. It should be an easy fix with new tires. This car floats like air and drive’s, handles, stops terrific. You would be hard pressed to find another in this condition yet alone this beautiful color combination. Opinions on cars vary so if you want someone to look at the car for you go ahead. I’ve been a Mopar guy for over 25 years and I’ve owned some high dollar cars and know junk from real deals. This is a true survivor, the real deal. The car is sold “as is” but you should be very pleased with it as I was. I’m easily accessible off of Interstate 80 in Omaha. I will assist as much as possible, but shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Good luck and yes this is the car you’ve been waiting for. If your serious and if you'd like you can call me directly for furthur information. 402 659 1118 My name is Bernie. Again, thanks. Someone is going to get a real nice old mopar here!!!
