Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1987 Chevy Corvette convertible. I have had this car for some time now and never had any issues with it. I am the second owner of this vehicle and I have maintained it very well. It is my second car. I usually drive it on the weekends to go to the beach and cruise it along the coast. This car has been maintained very well and has been serviced regularly. I do have some of the service records that will come with the car. Car runs great with no leaks or burns. There is clean and clear Carfax report and I do have a clean California title. It was registered in Nevada where I lived for the past 5 years and just made her way to California. Powerful V8 350 5.7L with only 96k miles that has not been abused at all. Motor still runs really strong and everything works including the AC. It comes with a new convertible top and the interior is in a great shape. It has a tape player with speakers and a Cd Changer & sub mounted in the back. I just removed my expensive amplifier but the wiring is still there and all you need is an amp to get some good sound in the car. Tires are in good shape with almost 80% on them. Transmission shifts smooth and overdrive is fully functional. Fiberglass body is straight with no major dents or scratches. Paint is in great condition and a buff job will bring it out even more. All lighting works. Overall this is an awesome car and I hope it finds a great home. I am selling it because I have no room for it anymore and it needs to go. Here are some known issues on this 13 year old car that I like to disclose. Although I am not selling a new car, below is what it takes to make it mint condition. - It has an intermittent service engine light that comes on once in a while, however it does not affect the drivability of the car. It’s hard to detect the problem since it only comes on once in a while. Driver seat is slightly worn out On the instrument panel, some digits are not fully recognizable as seen in one of the pictures. The window moldings are slightly worn out like shown in the pictures. I found these molding on eBay for $52.00. window sweeps, also called a window weather strips, window ledge weather strips, and outer door to window seals. Paint is showing a little fading in the back section above the tail lights which I think might come out after a good buff job I have disclosed everything to my best knowledge and I am providing as many pix as I can. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I do prefer local pickup but I will also work with your shipping company to make arrangements. Please don’t bid if you are not going to buy the car and make sure to have cash or guaranteed funds at the time of pickup. For all the foreigners, please keep scams in your own countries. Thanks for looking and happy bidding and God Bless. There were other Corvette owners that posted the same thing for why they didn't pass smog. State of CA has implemented a new EVAP test adopted in 2008 in which gas tank is pressurized with nitrogen gas. If the pressure drops after minutes they say it has a leak. The car always smogged with no problems years before until they began this new test. I think some technicians don't know what they are doing and wont retest without a charge. I don't know if other states have an EVAP test, the car runs perfect. Hope this helps.
