I have recently acquired a 1972 clear S.C. title Mini Cooper..The gentlemen who services my imports also is a Jag,Mini,Lancia,Rolls,Triumph,and Alfa Romeo mechanic and he just happens to know this car ,he has serviced it in the past and he'll have it back in his shop on Monday just for a once over just in case someone want's to drive the car a good distance home...He told me on monday he can better narrow down the year once he gets into the car and under the hood the old owner did'nt care what year it was so Darryl never tried to figure it out..But he has said to mention all the options the car has and most people looking will be able to get within several years of actual age based on options...Please keep in mind that this mini has not been modernized on the interior or anywhere else this is how a newer classic body car is built,Yet still looks like the 60's and 70's models but with a more updated interior and motor components..But don't get me wrong I've had some carbureted models with a 4 spd and I love them all.. The car is fuel injected,I think he said single injection, It's a 4 speed automatic, It has climate control A/c and heater which work very well the car will freeze you out,It has a newer dash and steering wheel ,The seats are a more modern leather seat pattern,It has jvc cd player but anyone could have put that in there,I don't think it has abs,but I'll update on Mon just to be sure ,I didnt see an abs box coming from the brake booster,That's about all can think of for options he said to mention..He seems to think it's at least a 91-96 because of fuel injection or automatic or maybe both... The cooling system has been overhauled recently ,It has a new electric cooling fan with all new hoses and clamps..The car cranks up and runs near perfect it shifts out fine and you can feel every shift which is a good thing according to Darryl.. On the hwy last night I was about 100KM and it does'nt drift or wander and when you stop the car stops and does'nt wander.. This car does'nt have any rust that is more than the average uncarriage oxidation ..Alot of people say (rust free ,rust free)and that's not possible unless it's fully resored..This car does have the original paintjob on it and it's in very nice with very few little nicks or chips on the nose,the sides and trunk of the car perfect no nick no dings.The roof has a little color fading in the middle but it's not to bad and is still very glossy. This car has been driven and has been cared for very well , But in my very professional opinion this car is a 8 out 10 with 10 being the best,So don't be afraid to drive it show it whatever you want to ,I've driven it to my dealership for a few days and it's fun to drive and to look at people taking pictures as you try to pay attention to the road...The car has been in S.C. for at least 7 yrs according to my title..I've tried to describe best I can about this little car and if anyone has any question whatsoever please call me... Salisbury Southern Motor Company 843 568 0547On Oct-11-10 at 14:55:18 PDT, seller added the following information: My machanic called to let me know is 1994 Mini.The car has power brakes with discs,The motor is mechanically sound with less than average seepage underneath,He said the back motor mount has a bit of play, but is good for a good more driving before repair...The mount is rather inexpensive but shipping plus part will total around $125-140 us money and the repair is very simple..He has been servicing this car for about 7 yrs and he'll provide me all the records when I go pick up the car... I'm not sure if the info is in questions for seller area but the motor is a 1275 SPI motor (single point injection) Some folks have asked why does it say 99,000 on dash but 65,000 in ad , 99,000 is kilometers and 65,000 is a close figure without doing math to convert to miles...
