Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful example of an the most popular car ever. The car is all original except the alternator and the radio. The car was stored for about 30 years until the late nineties when it was painted, and minor restoration work was done. A new interior was installed in 2004. The car was orinally black with a white top and a black and silver interior. It has always been garage kept. The car has the original power pack option though the original heads have been replaced. The original heads are included and they have been magnafluxed and are good. I have the four original wheels with new bias ply tires and spinner hubcaps and they are included. I drive the car with the chrome wheels and radial tires. Also included is a plastic bag in which the car can be stored filled with inert gas. There is a small crack in the driver side windshied which has not changed in 3 years (3" long). There is a small rust bubble inthe bottom of the driverside door and a small rust hole in the floorpan brace on the front passenger side. The rest of the floor pans are solid. Otherwise there are only small spots of surface rust in the engine compartment. The Powerglide transmission does leak transmission fluid (don't they all). I have tried to describe all the defects that I know of to the best of my ability but you may find others. Therefore I recommend that you either personally inspect the vehicle before bidding or have a third party inspect it. This vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel this auction before the reserve is met. Once the reserve is met it will no longer be for sale locally. The car may be inspected this week at "Cruising the Coast".On Oct-11-10 at 11:15:50 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a beautiful example of the most popular car ever. I have the original heads which have been magnafluxed and are good. I have the four original wheels with new bias ply tires and spinner hubcaps and they are included. I drive the car with chrome wheels, moon hubcaps and radial ply tires which are included. Also included is a plasic bag in which the car can be stored filled with inert gas. There is a small crack in the driver side windshield which has not changed in three years(3" long). There is a small rust bubble in the bottom front corner of the driverside door and a small rust hole in the floorpan braceon the passenger side. The rest of the floor pan braces and floor pans are solid. There are a couple of areas under the hood in the engine compartment where the undercoating has peeled and there is slight suface rust showing. The powerglide transmission does leak fluid at the seals(don't they all). I have tried to describe all defects that I know of to the best of my ability but I recommend that you either personally inspect the vehicle before bidding or have a third party inspect it. After the auction there can be no inspection until the nonrefundable deposit has been made. This description seems to dwell on the defects but don't be mislead, this is a very nice car. I was told several times this week that it was the most beautiful car at "Cruising the Coast" where there were over 4800 registered cars plus close to that many more unregistered. This basically an unrestored unmolested original and the mileage is original. The car is for sale locally but my reserve is much less than the asking price. I reserve the right to cancel the auction before the reserve is met.On Oct-13-10 at 06:07:59 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve has been met so this car is going to the highest bidder. Obviously this is not the price I am hoping for because the asking price locally was much higher. So, please keep bidding because the car is worth much more.On Oct-15-10 at 05:30:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Please Note the following: An interested bidder came by to inspect the car yesterday. During his inspection he noticed something that I had not. There are tiny bubbles in the paint above the right rear wheel well that extend back to the rear of the fender in an area about 6" wide. They are so small you have to get down and get the light right to see them. However it may be rust bubbles. Therefore, if anyone wishes to retract a bid made previous to this may do so. On Oct-16-10 at 10:26:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional photos taken 10/15/10 available. If interested send me your e-mail address and I will send them. Serious bidders only please.
