1 OF 3 REMAINING DELOREAN MOTOR COMPANY TRAINING CARS This car was assigned to R. Wemple of Composite Technology Corporation. A company owned by DeLorean Motor Company that made the composite body shell for the Delorean. Car used for training and trade shows. Sticker still in lower left corner of windshield "DELOREAN MOTOR COMPANY TRAINING CAR". Car then sold 5/13/82 to South Bend, Indiana resident with around 2,000 miles. I purchased it from him 1/28/87 with 4,447 miles. Shortly after, it was put on display at The Auburn-Cord-Dusenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana. I sold it while still on display in museum to a Carmel, Indiana collector 11/20/93 with 4,538 miles. He left it on display until summer of 1996. He had it shipped to Delorean Motor Company of Houston, Texas for extensive fuel system and brake work due to car not being run for almost 10 years. He moved to Florida and car was sold to a Wellington, Florida collector 1/31/97 with 4,659 miles. Car then sold at Barrett-Jackson Auction in Florida 11/4/03 with 5,069 miles to a elderly Clarksville, Tn. collector. I was in contact with him and told him if he ever wanted to sell it to contact me. Last summer his caretaker informed me that due to poor health he wished to sell it. I purchased it for the second time with 5,406 miles. I have name and address of all owners. Have copy of title of first owner, CarFax, and extensive documentation of this DeLorean. Have list of all early Deloreans by VIN and where they went. VIN started with 500 and first car sold new to the public was around VIN 649. The early company cars were used by the DOT, EPA, and crash testing and subsequently disassembled or destroyed after there test runs. This is 1 one of 3 known to have survived. Correct me if I am wrong, But I have done much research on them. One of the few automatic transmission equipped company cars. Unique to early production build is the grooved hood with gas flap door and manual antenna on R. F. fender. Car has been kept in climate controlled enviroment most of it's life. All original body panels and interior except gullwing door headliners have been replaced. Updates by Delorean Motor Company in Houston, Texas in 1996 at 4,538 miles. Clean fuel tank, fuel distributor, and lines. Install new fuel pump. Overhaul all brake calipers, new brake pads and master cylinder. Service A/C system New headliners 2004 at 5,100 miles New Goodyear Eagle GT HR Tires New Radiator Recent updates 2010 at 5,425 miles Remove fuel tank, clean out, install new fuel pump support, screen, hoses, retaining spring, filter, fuel tank sender and seals. While tank out replaced coolant pipes and hoses that run along tank in the enclosed area. New door struts New door sill seals New updated relay kit New steering column bushing. New rearview mirror glass New radiator cooling fan New alternator Defects Fuel gauge reads pass full until it gets low at which time it reads correct and low fuel light comes on. No more than driven I go by trip odometer to gauge fuel supply. Right front fender edge above wheel has been brushed against something and fender lip is flatten out. I didn't notice it until after I purchased it in 1987. Last owner wasn't even aware of it until I pointed it out to him. See photo, very gradual, no sharp crease. Please call with any questions.
