Vehicle Detail
When was the last time you found a 406 405 horsepower 63 Galaxie 500XL 4speed in Ragoon Red with red interior? Here it is, a factory G code 4 speed. It does not get much more desireable than this combination. The 406 tri-power motor is long gone along with the 4 speed transmission. The car comes with a manual transmisssion bell housing and driveshaft as seen in the pictures. The odometer shows 41797 miles, but this most likely has turned over. I have a clear Alaska title for the car. This car is unusual in the fact that it is the top of the line 500XL with a non padded dash. I myself prefer this as you do not have to worry about the pad cracking from the sun. The hood has been replaced at some point in the cars life as it is black. The car still has all its original Carlite glass in it. The windshield has a crack going across it. The car has the 4 speed pedals in it along with a Z-bar and frame pivot. There also is a generator in the trunk. Car has working ignition and door keys, no key or lock for trunk. The rear spring mounts had been modified as seen in the pictures. I have included another set or rear spring hangers from a parts car which I cut small sections of the frame out as this was the easiest way to get the mounts. The frame is solid on the top and sides of the rear spring hangers. If a guy just cut out about a 4 inch piece with the replacement hangers and welded it in it would be find. The car has rust holes right before each rear wheel on both sides. There is also a rust hole where the gas pedal would mount in the interior. The roof line and drip rails are solid as seen in the pictures. The trunk looks like a can of oil spilled out, this probably helped it from further rust. The headliner is original, the seats would need to be reupolstered. The car has rust holes in the trunk over where the dual exhaust mufflers would mount and also on the rear inner fender wells. This car is a definite project, but worth the restoration considering the rarity. It still has the original 3\8 fuel line, 6 leaf rear springs and 3 inch front drums.
