1965 Mustang Convertible Roadster with a Removable Fastback Roof My name is John and I can be reached at 801-680-8447 No Disappointments: This Convertible Roadster is a great investment as a driver and local show car. It is a fun car to drive and enjoy. From the engine compartment to the trunk and everywhere in between, this is a clean car. The following will be a description of each area of the car, being as in-depth and accurate as possible. Please keep in mind that this is a classic car that is over 45 years old, and although I will describe everything as best I can, some small items may have been overlooked. HISTORY: This Mustang started life out as a Coupe. A complete understructure from Mustangs Plus was professionally welded in before the Coupe roof was removed. A removable fiberglass roof now resides in its place. The fiberglass roof can be removed in less than 5 minutes. It weighs about 75 pounds. The rear window is glass. BODY: As you can see from the photos, this Mustang is a solid clean car. The fenders, hood, doors trunk lid, and quarter panels are rust free and show great fit. New floor pans and understructure was professionally installed. This Mustang is rust free from the body to the engine compartment, torque boxes, floor pans, trunk, etc. The complete car is solid and dry. The engine compartment, front and rear frame rails are solid! The trunk floor and trunk drop offs, as well as the wheel houses are in solid rust free condition as well. The body was painted red in the summer of 2010. INTERIOR: All of the interior is new and professionally restored. All of the glass is good and the windows roll up and down effortlessly. All gauges work as they should. ENGINE / MECHANICS: · The Engine is very strong and tight. The car used to be a 6 cylinder, but now it has a 289 with a C-4. All of the suspension has been upgraded to V8 suspension. There is an annoying squeak in the suspension. The engine does not smoke and the car does not leak. The automatic transmission shifts strong and smooth. The tires and exhaust system are new. This is a fun car to drive and enjoy TRUNK: The trunk area is very clean, and dry. There is not even a hint of rust. The trunk floors, wheel houses, drop offs, and frame rails are solid and dry! OVERALL: This car is a very solid driver that has both the look of a convertible and a fastback. This Mustang used to be a coupe. The chassis was strengthened before the roof was removed. The roof weighs about 75 pounds and ca be removed in less than 5 minutes. The fiberglass roof gives the look of a Fastback. It is like having a Convertible and Fastback in one car. The Roof is securely held on with 4 bolts. The Fastback rear window is glass. The rear glass is new, as well as the moldings and drip rails With the Fastback roof removed, This Mustang looks like a convertible. It is in two pieces so it can be easily transported in the trunk This picture illustrates that metal has been welded in to cover the rear package tray of the coupe. Notice the rubber bumpers.
