Vehicle Detail

Here is the one you have been waiting for...possibly the best, most versatile and reliable truck ever built!!! 1991 Toyota Pickup Extended Cab 4X4, 5 speed manual, gear shift transfer case, manual lockout front hubs, and arguably the best engine ever built, the legendary 4 cylinder fuel injected 22RE. These are getting very hard to find in nice shape, and make a great base for a rock crawler, off road toy, mud truck, grocery getter, kids first truck, cheap farm truck, or just drive it back and forth to work and get mid 20's for mpg. Truck is mostly an unmolested original with just under 217,000 miles. It starts every time easy in all weather, idles perfect, and runs and drives great. I have never had it quit, smoke, sputter or do anything weird, just runs great. I do not know if anything has been done to the motor ever. I assume it has had the timing chain replaced at some point, but I have no idea when. The transmission shifts smooth, and the clutch does not slip. When I got it, the previous owner thought it needed a clutch because it was hard to get into gear, but upon investigation, I found that the clutch bracket was cracked, so when you pushed in the clutch, it did not disengage all the way. I replaced the bracket with a new improved factory unit from the Toyota dealer. Problem solved! Previous owner also replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and bled the lines out in the last year. He also replaced the spark plugs and wires and I beleive and the intake was cleaned. The truck rides nice and goes straight down the road. Everything is still nice and tight. The brakes all work excellent, the power steering turns the truck effortlessly, and it acclerates nicely. Everyone knows the 22RE is no powerhouse speed demon, but the truck runs out real nice and will cruise nice at 60 mph or so effortlessly and will do 75 or so on the freeway with no problem. I would not be worried to drive the truck anywhere. The tires and wheels are from a 99-05 Tacoma. They are aluminum wheels with 31/10.50R15 BFG All Terrains. they look to be about 50% worn and have plenty of tread left. I also have a matching spare wheel, but no tire mounted on it. All the window glass is in excellent conditon, no cracks or chips. Rear window is a slider. The body is in very nice shape for a 20 year old truck Toyota from Iowa! It is very straight and the red paint is nice and shiny. This is no show truck and there are plenty of minor dents and scratches. There was typical toyota rust around the wheel wells that has been repaired by a backyard mechanic. It actually looks great from a distance and pretty good from 5 feet away. Get up close and you can see the amatuer work. It was covered up by spray on bedliner. It looks pretty good and looks like the truck has painted on fender flares. looks like there is also some cancer starting on the very bottom of the cab in the rear. It has a couple rust through holes in the bed...one was covered with a patch panel. The bed has been protected with a mat and is in overall very good shape. The truck body is fixable if you wanted it perfect, but it is nice enough to drive as is. The A/C blows ice cold! it is colder than my 2007 GMC and will freeze you out. I was suprised how good it works. The heat also works fine and everything works correctly such as defrost, feet, face, etc. The factory stereo is not impressive, but looks good and works good. The truck also has tilt steering, and the wipers and windshield washer works great. I just installed new wiper blades. The interior is in excellent shape. No dash cracks! Carpet is nice with just a few dirty spots. The cloth is very nice and no major issues. It has the typical tear on the drivers seat and a couple small tears on the head rests. The jump seats in the back are nice and all the storage compartment covers are in good shape and work correct. Both door panels look great and have not been hacked up to install speakers. The floor mats are like new. This is one of the nicest interiors I have seen in an older truck like this. The frame is completely solid with no rot. There is surface rust on the frame, but nothng that looks too serious. It all looks completely original and has never been painted or undercoated. If someone wanted to, they could clean it up and paint or undercoat it and keep it nice for the next 20 years. Known Problems: Parking brake cable just broke. A brand new one is included but I have not had time to install it. A couple of the dash lights are burnt out. It doesn't bother me, but I do have new ones included if the buyer wants to change them This is a nice little truck with a lot of capabilites. It is not perfect and I have described it as honestly as possible. I am not the original owner and do not claim to know the complete history of the truck. It has a clean Iowa Title and current registration. I will also supply a bill of sale. I still drive the truck, so the mileage may go up a little. I hate to see it go, but I do not need it. My family is too large for it. The teenagers are too big for the back seat to be very comfortable. I have a full size four door pickup that hauls everyone and all their junk a little better. I could use the garage space, so I am offering this up at no reserve and plan to sell to the highest bidder. I do have it for sale locally though and have a couple guys from work that want to test it out. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if I sell it locally. Buyer must make a $300 down payment by paypal within 24 hrs of the end of the auction. The buyer must make arrangements to pick up the truck and pay in full within 10 days of the end of the auction. Payment must be made with cash in person, or a bank electronic money transfer and be in my account before I sign over the title. Feel free to come look at the truck and drive it before bidding if you like. If you are not willing to purchase the vehicle or do not have the means, Please do not bid! Thank you, Mike
