Selling my 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel. It has the original 1.5L diesel engine. Odometer doesn't read into the hundred thousand but the previous owner said it has only 150,000 miles on it. I'm the third owner and the original owner had it in storage from about 15-20 years in a shed with concrete floor. When I bought it, it needed a new radiator and I installed a new one. Upon installation, I fitted it with the wrong radiator cap which caused it to overheat, as these cars are notorious to do. Therefore, I now believe it has a warped cylinder head (from overheating) so it will need to be put on a trailer to haul it away. I researched this and I read that it cost $60-$100 to get it machined. I don't have the time to pull the engine and that is why I'm selling it. It does start up fine and does not blow any discoloration of smoke. The exterior has a few rust spots which is what you get for a car this old. It does have the 5-speed manual transmission in it and has no problems shifting. This model was outfitted with A/C originally but there is no condenser and I can't say if that's the only problem. Again, the car will have to be picked up as it cannot be driven far without overheating. I check my emails frequently so if there are any questions just email me and I will get back to you asap.
