This car is NOT perfect and I have over the course of the past 5 years put approx. $4-5000 into the car to repair various problems. These problems included a brand new transmission 2 years ago and replacing both CV joints, fuel pump, fuel filter, BCM, ICM, ignition lock cylinder, ignition switch, transmission mounts,and thermostat to name just a few. However the car does still have several minor issues. The car runs and drives great right now and was my daily driver/fire department response vehicle up until my wife got a new car and passed her old one down to me. Here is a list of issues that the car does have. Car is still very dependable and can be driven without the repairs. I have been driving it for quite some time in this condition. Needs brake work - I replaced the pads but I think the front rotors are warped Cosmetic dings and dents along with a gash in the passenger front door (approx. 4-5" long and .5 inch wide)Passenger rear door handle missing (Door can still be opened and used)Front bumper cover crackedHoles (3-5) in headliner from police equipment mounts - One 4" x 4" hole and several 3-5 screw holes.Leaks a little oil around the valve covers (Impalas are known to do this)Dash lights and turn signals quit intermittently (I have the part to fix the turn signals)Heat shield on exhaust rattles intermittently.Fitting on tranny fluid line leaks a little occasionally.One strut sticks occasionally.Could use new tires. Various holes from light mounting and radio antennas (Three antennas on trunk and hole in roof is covered) Honestly, I love the car and would keep it and make the repairs but my wife bought a new SUV and I can't justify keeping this car over the one that she used to drive.
