Its Beautiful signal red paint shines like the first day it left the showroom floor, and powerful V8 engine purrs and runs strong as ever. 1972 was the first year of this body style, and W107 chassis of the 280,350,380,450 and 560SLs was one of the longest running production bodies in the Diamler-Benz AG's line. Although most W107s are extremely well built and collectible, the most desirable and collectible of the W107s is the 1972 350SL with its features and higher horse-power than its latter cousins. It comes with short bumpers that are giving it more sleeker and desirable look than later series of 450SL's. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, Germany factory. 1972 Mercedes 350SL’s are becoming next highly collectible SL after the pricey and very famous W113 280SL Pagoda Mercedes!! Part of what makes the 1972 350SL so desirable to Collectors and Mercedes enthusiasts is the increased U.S. emissions and safety requirements starting in 1973 causing later models to be fitted with special crash bumpers and emissions control systems resulting in reduced overall look, performance and horse-power. This Beauty was born in February 1972 and its production number is 3360, making it one of the first ones to roll off the production line. About the car: Signal Red (#568H "Signalrot") paint has amazing shine and luster, and it makes this car look stunning!!! Chrome is all complete and in great condition! Desirable color combination of Signal Red exterior paint and Bamboo interior make this SL a real head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes. Structurally this Mercedes is in pretty good condition, especially for its age. Please remember that this car has never been restored, and its 38 years old, so some surface rust is to be expected. Body is in great condition, and the car is straight as an arrow. All body panels line up nicely, and doors, hood and trunk are all opening, closing and operating with ease. This Mercedes comes with both soft and the hard top! Soft top is older but it is still functional, and goes up and down with ease. Hard top is in excellent shape, with the exception of small tear in the headliner (please see pictures). All glass is clear, complete, and in excellent condition. -Interior Bamboo interior is in wonderful condition! Carpet is clean, in great shape, and its rips and tears free. Seats are in like-new condition and are very comfortable and supportive. This Mercedes comes with power windows, and they are working as they should!
