Vehicle Detail
nice sabre that needs some work to be on the road again. the engine turns over and has compression, ther is oil in the crank case . no water in the oil. tires are good with good tread depth and no rot. the tank is rusty inside it will need to be coated, no dents. the side covers and tail piece have no cracks , overall paint quality is poor but it is the original factory paint. all lights and guages work. seat has cracks and it will need a cover. this bike has been sitting for a while and the carbs will need to be cleaned and the brake wheel cylinders and master cylinders will need kits put in them. the right side engine cover has a hole that has been filled with jb weld (i didnt do it) its not leaking oil but i would find a used cover for it,its right below the word HONDA on the cover. would make a good winter project when the wife is nagging you and the kids are driving you nuts. no reserve click link for video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk0kNCylmM4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut6Hiw46bYk On Sep-11-10 at 13:54:52 PDT, seller added the following information: i would like to make it clear that i have a new iowa title in hand, just got it. should be hassle free On Sep-15-10 at 01:41:04 PDT, seller added the following information: i have owned this bike for about five months. i never had it running amd have never even worked on it,too many other projects. it has been sitting on the center stand in my garage. the other day after taking pictures for the auction i used the side stand to once again store the bike in my garage. for the first time i noticed an oil leak. it is a slow drip toward the rear of the case there is a gasket near there and that could be where the oil is leaking from. as i said it is slow maybe 10 drops over a 24 hor period however this would need repair because im sure the leak would be worse if i was dealing with a hot motor. this is the second time ive listed this bike. i ended the first auction early based on this new information. i will drop the exhaust and take new photos tonight after work. i should be able to determine whether it is a leaking gasket or a crack in the engine case. thanks for your patience. On Sep-15-10 at 16:33:41 PDT, seller added the following information: ok...just got done taking a close look underneath the beast. the trans case is split down the middle with a gasket in between (by design). looks to be a slow drip ( a very small amount of oil was present on my garage floor after a 24 hour period) it appears to be coming from the gasket area. the trans cases look to be good. the bike has not been run in a few years so most likely a combination of oil viscosity and dry gaskets. hopefully solved with fresh oil a little bit of gasket rejuvenator and retorking the trans case. you be the judge. i am not a trained mechanic and by no means does my honesty make up for my ignorance. TOO ALL THOSE PEOPLE INCONVENIANCED BY MY RELISTING I APOLOGIZE. i dont consider myself to be a spike lee fan but ....im just trying to do the right thing here.
