Vehicle Detail
I am moving to the big city and I cannot take my camper with me which is why it is up for sale. This was purchased in July of 2009 from the high desert of Colorado and I have put less than 150 miles on the engine since the purchase. Although in this time I have given her a name, Van-A-White, and grew what is known as Vanagonitis in this short time. Unfortunately I was not able to utilize the van as I wanted due to a job loss earlier in the year. I have put numerous upgrades in over time that improves the functionality as well as the appearance -- has been very enjoyable thus far and I hope to get another in the future. This camper runs great and looks even better, many compliments will be given on your quirky little vehicle. Bottom line is this is a very good condition 1984 VW Vanagon Campmobile that is definitely a collectors item. The Upside:1.9 Liter Water-Cooled Engine 157,948 original milesNew alternatorNew distributor with plugs and wiresNew temp sensor New fuel filter Recent oil change with Mahel filter New pop-up top seal kitInstalled interior panels with almond paint to match original Wood panel flooring New fire extinguisherAM/FM/CD, Detachable Face, Remote Control Pioneer Stereo. I installed the iPod adapter that sounds greatNew Hankook tires Original VW hubcap covers New battery and connecting ground Accessories: Bentley handbookHatch bug screen New bra Side awning that attaches over sliding door The downside: Runs a bit rich, need to change the O2 sensor that can be purchased for cheap and installed easilySunlight / vent leaks a bit. I have the stripping to sealFront radiator grill is missing (came that way) but I have found them used online (www.thesamba.com) or new on any of the Vanagon supplier sitesHatch struts are tired and sag down. New online for a pair, roughly $30Back left tail light / front right turn signal works occasionally. Haven't had time to find the problem area (common problem with these vans) I have all service records as well as receipts of purchased parts I have made in the last year. I am willing to offer shipping quotes to the winning bidder based on your geographical location. Good luck and happy bidding!
